Review of Beachbody Les Mills Combat Kick Start

Les Mills Combat Kick Start

It's actually been a couple weeks since I did this workout, but I've been so busy with editing that I haven't done much blogging. I need to rectify that because I've noticed that my desire to workout goes way down when I have no time to blog about my workouts. I fear that I'm on a slippery slope. I'm not losing any weight and that makes me sad. I haven't been on point with my nutrition because it's like why bother since I wasn't losing weight anyway. I decided to do this workout because I was in one of my soul searching moods and wanted to go back to a time where I was actually losing weight. I wasn't in the mood for a Leslie Sansone workout, so I popped in the first Les Mills Combat workout. It was a 30 minute martial arts style workout. I love martial arts workouts! I really enjoyed doing Les Mills Combat. Wow that was like two years ago next month! Holy Cow! I did the full round of Les Mills Combat starting in June of 2014. I also did a mini round of it. This time around, I just did the one workout.

I just re-read my post after the first time I did Kick Start. It was interesting to read. I wrote the post the day I did the workout though, so there are no comments about if I was sore the next day. I speculated that I would be, but I'm not sure if it happened. The day after doing it this time around, my upper back was killing me! My legs and arms didn't hurt at all, but my upper back hurt for a couple days. I was pretty surprised by that. I remember having some strange spots of soreness behind my shoulder blades the first time I did the 45 minute Les Mills Combat workout, but I didn't remember any upper back pain from the 30 minute one. I was punching with all I had this time around though so maybe that was it. I usually have a hard time getting DOMS in my back, but give me a 30 minute combat workout and here comes the DOMS.

Polar M400 Screen Shots

I discovered that I did this workout on May 11th! I can't believe I haven't gotten around to blogging about it until now! I'm such a slacker. Well, not really, but I've been crazy busy with my editing gig so really haven't had any time at all to do blogging. Here are the screen shots from the workout.

Review of Beachbody Les Mills Pump: Pump Challenge

Pump Challenge

This week, I started doing C25K Couch to 5k again. It's only three days a week, so I thought I should do some strength training on my non-running days. I was going to start doing Beachbody Hammer and Chisel again, but I didn't give myself enough time. I decided to give Beachbody Les Mills Pump another try to see if I was any better at it. I didn't go through the full 90 day program before. I just did each workout once. Each one of them made me hurt for about four days after I was done! I liked the workouts, but OMG they made me hurt! I picked the first for my workout between my first and second day of C25K

You can read about all of the moves on my first post about Pump Challenge. I used the five pound weights for the squat track and the chest track. I used 10 pounds for the other two leg tracks. I used 2 pounds and 5 pounds for the shoulder track. It was mainly two pounds. I think I did fives for the upright rows and the rest was just 2 pounds.

I made it through most of the workout with any problems. I did have to take a break on each side during the lunge track. Lunges suck! My shoulders were killing me for the Shoulder track, but I didn't need any breaks. I wasn't shaking when I was done with this workout like I was the first time I did Pump Challenge.

I wasn't sore the next day either. I was pretty happy about that part because I did it the day before I had a job interview which wasn't the best of ideas considering how much I hurt the first time I did it. I was able to walk up the stairs and down the stairs at the interview and didn't even wince. It kind of made me want to go through the 90 day program and alternate between C25K and Pump, but on Thursday, I had no motivation to do the same workout, so I took a rest day. Oopsy.

Polar M400 Screen Shots

I'm not really sure what's up with that weird dip in the last third. The first dip is while I listened to the lengthy explanation about changing the weights and safety stuff. I think if I do try to do Pump along with C25K, I'll just move right two the second workout because the first one has too much down time while they explain so much. The others have some down time between segments, but this seems to have the most.

Review of Beachbody Less Mills Pump

Beachbody Les Mills Pump

This is a discontinued Beachbody program that uses weights and a lot of reps to get results. I haven't done the entire program, but I have done all of the workouts in the basic package. You can't buy this program from Beachbody anymore, but you can buy it on ebay if you want it. It's a great program to add to your strength training library.

The Workouts

The program comes with 5 strength training workouts, one 15 minute ab workout and one yoga workout. If you bought it from a Beachbody coach, you also got an extra 10 minute ab workout. You might be able to find someone selling the version with the extra workout, but you might not.

Pump Challenge

This workout is about 25 minutes. It has five tracks. They cover Squats, Chest  & Triceps, Back, Butt and Hamstrings, Lunges and Shoulders. I hurt for about four days after doing this workout! I was a bit bummed that it didn't have anything for biceps, but was happy to have no ab section! This workout was short, but it was very effective in making me sore! This one didn't have a warm up or a cool down track. You can read a play by play of all the moves on my post about Beachbody Les Mills Pump: Pump Challenge

Pump and Burn

This one as about 35 minutes. It has six tracks. The first track was the warm up track. After that, we covered Squats, Chest, Legs and Back and Abs. The last track was the cool down. I was also disappointed not to have a bicep track in this one. I have to admit though that I was not upset to be missing a shoulder track. My shoulders are so wimpy. I hurt for about four days after this workout too. You can read a play by play on my post about Beachbody Les Mills Pump: Pump and Burn

Pump and Shred

Pump and Shred was about 47 minutes. It had 8 tracks to it. We started with the warm up track and ended with the cool down track. I'm glad these have the cool down tracks. The first one just had a little stretching between tracks, but I felt like I needed more! In between the first and last tracks, we had Legs (Squats), Chest, Back, More legs (Lunges), Shoulders and Abs. Once again, no bicep track, but we did get our shoulders back into the mix oh joy. I hurt probably for four days again after this workout. These things are killer! You can read more about the moves on my post about Beachbody Les Mills Pump: Pump and Shred.

Pump Revolution

Pump Revolution had 10 tracks! It was a whopping 57 minutes! It was soooooooo long! It was awesome, but OMG that was a lot of reps! The first track was the warm up and the last track was the cool down. In the middle we had Squats, Chest, Back and Legs, Triceps, Biceps, Legs (lunges), Shoulders, and abs! We finally got a bicep track! My biceps barely made it through the track, but they weren't really sore the following day. I was still happy to finally get a bicep track though! It feels like my biceps have been shrinking since I haven't been doing much with them lately. You can read a play by play of this workout on my post about Beachbody Les Mills Pump: Pump Revolution

Pump Extreme

Pump Revolution was another long one! It lasted just under an hour and had 10 tracks. We did a warm up and a cool down track. In the middle, we had Squats, Chest, Back and Legs, Triceps, Biceps, Legs (lunges!), Shoulders and Abs. Pretty much the same stuff we had in Pump Revolution. Most of the moves were the same too. The ab track was a bit different and I think the shoulder track was a little different. It was nice to have another workout with a track for biceps. My biceps were a bit fried before I started this workout though. I had helped load the truck at work a couple days before this workout and my biceps got quite the workout. They were the only thing sore the day after loading the truck. I was kind of surprised that they were sore. I was really surprised nothing else was sore. I'm rambling, so back on track! I liked this workout, but some of the tracks get a little old because you do the same move for the entire track. The only difference is the tempo. You can read more about the moves on my post about Beachbody Les Mills Pump: Pump Extreme

Flow

This one was just under 20 minutes. It was a mix of strength poses and stretching poses. I felt like I needed more stretching poses though. I really love the stretching aspect of yoga. I didn't really feel like we held any specific pose long enough to really get a good stretch. I felt good after the workout, but I wanted more! There were four tracks. We started off with some Vinyasa Flow type stuff. Then we went into a section of strength poses with stuff like Crescent and some Warrior Variations. Then we did some stretching poses on the floor. The last track was mainly focused on twisting poses. I love twisting poses! You can read a play by play of the moves on my post about Beachbody Les Mills Pump: Flow

Hard Core Abs

Hard Core Abs had three tracks and they were all about the abs. Shocking I know. The workout was just under 15 minutes. I'm not a fan of ab workouts. I'm okay with hiding ab moves in other workouts, but to go into a workout know that it's just going to be about abs is just not something I'm a big fan of. I wasn't expecting to enjoy this workout because I've rarely liked any ab workout before. It wasn't that bad though. We didn't do anything crazy challenging, but my abs were sore the next day. You can read about all of the moves on my post about Beachbody Les Mills Pump: Hard Core Abs

Core

Here we have another short ab workout. This is the one that came with the program for buying it from a Beachbody Coach. It was about 11 minutes and had three tracks. I liked this one better than Hard Core Abs. It still had the Hover or Plank as we call it in this country, but the rest of the stuff was more enjoyable. As I said in the last paragraph, I'm not a fan of ab workouts. This was probably my favorite of all ab workouts though. It was totally doable, but still challenging. Ab workouts are hard for big girls like me. We're not really built to be laying on the floor. It's hard to lay on the floor and not hurt your back when your butt is ginormous. I'm not saying this to be funny. It's seriously hard to not hurt your back while doing ab workout when you can't get your back flat because you've got too much padding in the rear end. You can read about all of the moves on my post about Beachbody Les Mills Pump: Core

Review of Beachbody Les Mills Pump: Les Mills Core

Les Mills: Core

Today was Sunday which meant food prep and strength training day! The day started out great! I got an early start to my editing. By 10:30 I felt like I had accomplished so much and then it sort of went downhill from there. I still had to do 10 more calls for my editing project, plus I hadn't started food prep, I had to buy a Mother's Day card (Yes, I bought a Mother's Day card on Mother's Day! I'm a bad bad girl), I hadn't done any blog posts, I hadn't worked out and I hadn't done any blogging. I'm not really sure what I did before 10:30 that made me feel so accomplished. LOL! It was 3:00 before I had a chance to workout and after doing the math, I realized it needed to be a fast workout. I also realized that I never got around to doing the second Les Mills Pump ab workout, the one that came free with the program, so I popped that sucker in and got it done! I only got 10 minutes of strength training today. I feel like such a slacker! Oh well! I'm over it!

The Workout

This thing was about 11 minutes long. Yeah. Like I said, I'm a slacker! Oh well. There were three tracks on this one. It was led by the same instructor the whole time. There was a modifier, but they didn't really talk about what she was doing, and we couldn't see her the whole time. There were no weights with this one which was nice! Although, I kinda like weights sometimes with abs to distract me from the fact that we're working our abs. I hate abs!

Track 1

We started out doing crunches with our feet on the floor. This track was about 3-1/2 minutes long. The crunches started out pretty slow. Then we put our heads on the floor and started doing alternating leg lifts. Then we did both feet at the same time. Then we did C Crunch. I'm not sure where this got the name, but the arms are out to the side and then they go up to the ceiling as our knees come to our chests and our chests go to our knees. I kinda like these. They are different than normal crunches. Then we did what they call a Cross Crawl. This is another one where I'm not really sure where the name comes from, but I don't think I really care either. Anyway, back to having our backs on the floor and our feet on the floor as well. We crunched up and brought one shoulder to the opposite knee as that foot lifted off the floor and the knee came to the shoulder. I like these better than bicycles. More C Crunches. I guess they do look like they are forming a C with their bodies. Then we did Shoulder Bridge a couple times. Then more C Crunches! More Cross Crawls! Then we rolled over for some plank time or Hover as they call it. We started these on our knees. They held it for like 20 seconds to finish off the track and then held it during the break between tracks.

Track 2

We were already in a plank so we didn't get to rest between tracks. We stayed on our knees and then alternated tapping a foot out to the side. Then we were back on our backs for more Cross Crawls, but we didn't alternate them this time. We just did one side for like 8 reps and then we switched sides to finish it out.The leg stayed up the whole time. Back to Hover! Yay! (Not) Then we alternated moving one hand out to the side. These did these on their toes. I just stayed on my knees though. I'm not really gaga over the whole hover after I read about them not being so great for some women. Then we did single cross crawls again, but this time we stretched the leg out straight as we came over with the shoulder. So the shoulder moving was the same side that the leg straightened on. It made my brain hurt. We did one side and then the other and then more Hover! This time the left arm with out to the side while the right foot went to the side. We alternated like that until the end of the track and then we held the hover. I did all of that on my knees.

Track 3

We started out on our bellies with our arms out straight. Then we did alternating leg lifts. Then we did alternating arm lifts. Then we did both arms up and then out to a T at our sides and then forward and down again. Then we did alternating arm and leg lefts. The left arm went up when the right foot went up. Then we did the double arm lift with the t thing again. Then we did airplane twists. So we went back to the t position and then lifted the right hand up to the ceiling as the other went down. We did each side a couple times and then held the up position with the arms in a t. Then we did more of the double arm t lifts. Then we did a side elbow plank. I did this on my knee. Some of them did it on the knee and some went to the toes. We did each side for a few seconds. Then we were back on our backs for crunches with our legs out straight at a 45 degree angle. We held it up for the last few seconds and then we were done.

Overall, this could have been my favorite ab workout. They were slow paced, but challenging physically. I really like Supermans and stuff like that so the third track was probably my favorite section of any ab workout.

I didn't bother with the Polar M400 screen shots since it was an ab workout that was slow paced. I figured it wouldn't show much activity anyway so why bother.

Now I've done all of the workouts that came with the basic package for Les Mills Combat! I really liked this program. I wish I had done it sooner! I've got a couple more Cize workouts to finish up thi week, and hopefully on Sunday, I'll start back on Hammer and Chisel. I don't plan on following the 60 day program though, but I am going to try to get through each of the workouts just to find my favorites so I've got Hammer and Chisel, Les Mills Pump and Body Beast to do my strength training workouts!

Review of Beachbody Cize The Next Level: Own Every Move

Cize The Next Level: Own Every Move

So Beachbody did something pretty amazing! They gave a free gift to everyone who bought Cize. The only requirement was that you be a Premium Club Member to get the free gift because the gift is a set of workouts you can only get through the On Demand thing with Beachbody. For anyone who bought Cize at any point, you get free routines! That's pretty amazing. They could have charged extra for you to unlock these, but they gave them away for free! Work Your Body was the first one released several months ago, but there are four others (or maybe it was five) that were released more recently. Own Every Move is one of them!

The Routine

When I did Work Your Body, I did a bit of a play by play for the routine, but I can't really do that for this one because I don't really remember it well enough. I went through the Cize It Up round to get the names of the moves, but I still don't really remember them. I have to admit that I did not really enjoy this routine. I didn't really enjoy Work Your Body all that much either. I did appreciate that Own Every Move was more like the original Cize routines though. I felt like he went a little slower with the instructional section, but the moves were just too challenging for me. I couldn't seem to get my limbs going in the right directions and I never felt like I was dancing.

This one had six different moves and all of them were compound moves so no learning a couple counts and then repeating it for the full 8 count. Nope. None of that in this one. That's fine though. Not everyone is as challenged as me and if they were all just a repeating 2 or 4 count for the full 8 count, other people would be bored. I'll probably try these again, but maybe not just yet. I think at some point, I'll do like a mini round of the full Cize program and then wrap it up with going through these again in a similar manner to the regular program where you alternate two workouts for a week and then move on to the next two and so on and then the final week you just do each one once. That seemed to make things click for me with some of the original routines.

Okay so the names of the different moves.......

Chug Pas De Bourree - I did okay with this until we added the arms and then I just lost it and couldn't get it back. I need to remember to just skip my arms.

Roll Knee Pop Throw - I actually did okay with this one. I like the knee pop stuff. We've done it in other routines.

Sweep Cha Cha Cha -  I love the cha cha cha stuff. I can handle Cha Cha Cha stuff. I didn't do so well with the sweep part of this though.

Ball Change Elbow - I honestly can't even remember what this move was about! I just watched it too.

Drive Sgl Sgl Dbl - We did a move called Drive the Car in a previous routine. This one wasn't really like that one, but we did put our arms up like we were driving and then did a bit of a cha cha cha thing again.

The final move was the Point Away Grapevine - There was a bit of a cha cha cha while we pointed our hands to the side and then did a Grapevine forward. I don't do grapevines forward very well, but I'm working on it.

Overall, this was a challenging workout for me. I didn't really enjoy it much, but if you go back and read previous Cize posts from me, you'll see that I don't typically like a new routine. I loved the second workout in the original program my first try, but that was about it. I ended up loving the first routine, but the first time I did it, I didn't love it. I really didn't enjoy ether of the workouts from the second week, but I did like the workouts from the third week, but I was still baffled and challenged the first time around.

Polar M400 Screen Shots

Here are the screen shots. I got a decent calorie burn even though it wasn't that strenuous for me. I'm happy with that.

Review of Beachbody Les Mills Pump: Hard Core Abs

Hard Core Abs

It seems like every Beachbody program comes with a short workout for the abs. I'm never a fan of them because I don't like ab workouts. I do them at least once because for some reason, I always think this will be the one that I like! I'm always wrong, but that's okay. I was actually looking forward to this one yesterday though. I didn't feel like doing anything bouncy and I didn't feel like committing myself to a walk. I was perfectly content to just lay on the floor and work my abs. So that's what I did!

The Workout

This one was about 15 minutes. It consisted of three tracks and it was done completely on the floor. Most of it was done on my back. I was very happy with that! Normally, I hate floorwork for abs, but I seriously did not want to be vertical! We didn't need any equipment for this!

Track 1

We started out with our feet on the floor and our knees bent. We lifted one foot up at a time. We did it slowly. Then we did it faster. Then we did a bit of a bicycle move, but our feet came down to the floor instead of going straight out. Then we did some slow crunches with our feet on the floor. Then we crunched with the upper body and the lower body. It was super slow at first and then we sped it up. Then we had our knees bent and then straightened the legs out at 45 degrees. Then we crunched the upper body as we did the legs out in and in at 45 degrees. Then more of the bicycle move thing while alternating tapping our feet down.

Track 2

We did the Up Downs that we've done in other workouts. I don't remember what they called it. We were on our knees for this though. So in push up position on our knees. We started on elbows and then went up onto the hand of our right arm and then the left. Then down to elbow on right and down to elbow on left. Then we flipped over, bent our knees and brought them up to 90 degree angle. We extended the right leg then the left. Then we bent the right and then the left. We alternated like that for a bit and then moved into an Iron Cross. I'm not sure where ig gets the name. You're on your back with your shoulders up off the floor, your arms out to the side and your feet straight up about 45 degrees off the floor. My knees were bent a little bit. This was hard! Then we brought the knees in for a stretch. We did the Up Down things, but started on the left side. This time, some of them did them on their toes instead of their knees. Then we rolled over and did the leg extensions starting with the left leg. More Iron Cross oh joy. We did the up downs again, but when we went down onto our elbows, we alternating picking one foot up off the floor for a second. They did these on their toes. I did them on my knees.

Track 3

This track was for the obliques. We brought our feet off the floor and the knees at a 90 degree angle. Then we took the knees over to the side about 45 degree angle and alternated extending our legs out. Then we did both legs at the same time. Then we went back to center and then back to 45 degrees then extended the legs and back to center. This was a big challenging for me, but I stuck with it. Then we did a side elbow plank. They did it on their knees. We did a side crunch while doing that. Then we switched sides and did it all again. Then we switched sides and did 12 more crunches in the elbow plank. This time, they did them on their toes. I still did them on my knee. Then we did the other side. Then we bot back on our backs and did a section of Hundreds. So we were in a bit of a Canoe position and we slammed our hands down on the floor. I've never actually hit my hands to the floor to do those when we did them in 21 Day Fix. It really does make it harder. With 21 Day Fix, our feet were straight up too instead of the 45 degree angle. This was definitely harder in this. I kinda liked it though!

Overall Thoughts

While this was challenging, it was also one of my more favorite 15 minute ab workouts. I'm not in love with the side elbow plank crunch segment, but overall, the workout was rather doable for my 263 pound body. The people weren't annoying and the music was decent. There is one more of these to tackle and then I'm done with Pump for a little bit. I'm going to work on getting through all of the Hammer and Chisel workouts and see where things go from there.

Polar M400 Screen Shots

I'm not sure why I bothered with the screen shots. Spending 15 minutes on my back doesn't get me a lot of activity minutes.

Review of Beachbody Cize: The end of Exercize: On Demand Exclusive Work Your Body

Cize: On Demand Exclusive: Work Your Body

I'm back at Cize again! I did Cize way back in October. I then did a mini round in December. I loved the program my first time around. I fell in love with Cize when I did my first workout as a sneak peak on Beachbody On Demand. I just had to get the program when it came out. I had already done Rockin' Body and wanted to put my new found confidence to work. I know I was only dancing in my workout room and no one saw me, but it still takes a degree of confidence to actually do this stuff. I wanted to challenge myself to do something outside of my comfort zone and I definitely did. At the end, I even posted videos of me doing the different routines. I still can't believe I actually posted those on here. I cringe thinking that people will see them, but it was important to me at the time to encourage other big people to try something new and challenge themselves to get out of their comfort zones. I'm rambling again. I do that a lot.

Okay so Beachbody has this On Demand workout streaming thing and if you buy the Cize program, you get these On Demand exclusive workouts which is totally amazing! Some people are upset because they don't have the ability to stream and these workouts can't be purchased as DVDs, but let's face it people, life isn't fair and not everyone can have everything. This is a nice perk for the people who bought the DVDs and who can stream. Sorry if I sound harsh. Anyway......This was the first of the free workouts and it came out a few months before the latest batch of free workouts. I kept meaning to try this one sooner, but I was always in the middle of a program. I finally got around to doing it yesterday morning.

The Routine:

This one has Chili from TLC in it. She did the music for it too. I think she wrote the song for this, but I couldn't really tell. So this one is similar to the first Cize routine. Oh and we're supposed to call it a routine instead of a workout since this is The End of Exercize and all. I still call it a workout. He does in this workout, but then he corrects himself and calls it a routine. Okay so similar to the first Cize routine in the sense that it's very simple moves and you repeat them for the full eight count. Some of them are variations on moves in previous routines.

There are 8 moves in this one. The Cize It Up section of this one is different though because you don't do the routine the same way. For example, in the first Cize workout, we did 8 moves for 8 counts each and we did the whole routine three or four times just like that in the Cize It Up section. With Move Your Body, we still did the routine three times in the Cize It Up section, but the first time we did three counts of 8 per move, the second time was two counts of 8 and the third was just the one count of 8.

The 8 moves are fairly simple and all have cute names. They are Hook Groove, Skate, Point Away, Cross Low Cha Cha Cha, Booty Back Whip, Step Ball Change, African Chug and Man Up. The names don't really clue you in much to what you'll be doing if you've never done it, but once you know the moves, seeing the names on the screen or hearing him call out the names helps to know what you're doing next if you're like me and can't remember the order all the time.

The first move was simple enough for me to handle. We just did a side to side toe tap thing, but the first two times the foot went back and the second two it went front. We did a simple arm move along with it. When the foot was back, our arms were low doing a hook and when the foot was forward, our arms with up in the air doing a bit of a punching move. I got my foot forward when it should have been back and back when it should have been forward a few times, but for the most part, I was able to do this one just fine.

The second move was a bit of a disaster for me. I feel like the learning section on this one went from super simple to me tripping over myself pretty quickly. He started out great, but I feel like we threw in the arm movements before I really grasped the foot movements and then I just lost it. I pretty much just walked backwards with my hands in the air and then walked forward with my hands down low flapping around every time this one came up. I was a bit disgusted with myself. I was also pretty bummed because I loved Cize the first time around and I felt like a wreck with this. I had to remind myself that while I loved Cize the first time around, I still pretty much sucked at it in the beginning of each workout so I can't just bail on this because I got hung up on the first time doing it.

The third move was a basic sideways cha cha cha step while we pointed our hands. It felt a bit like one of the moves in Rockin Body during the Disco Groove routine. I looked like a bit of a train wreck though. I couldn't seem to move in the correct direction and point in the correct direction at the same time. I could handle one or the other, but not both. This is another one that I feel like I could have used a little bit more instruction on, but other people might have gotten bored. I guess I just need to do it again and see.

The Cross Low Cha Cha Cha was a bit weird for me. I was a bit behind for most of it because I felt like we needed to hit each move, but they sort of just flowed through it so I kept losing nano seconds that added up to me being behind. So we sort of bend over and pointed each hand towards the ground and then we stood back up to cha cha cha. All of this footwork got my heart rate up. Most of the beginning moves were like that.

Then we moved on to the Booty Back Whip. I didn't really do well with this one. It's simple, but I made it complicated. We did this hip thrust thing on each side and then did this arm whip thing. The good news was that it didn't have any cha cha cha steps in it so I got a chance to rest during this one.

Then we moved on to Step Ball Change which was basically the cross step, but with a ball change thing in it that I just didn't seem to grasp so I just didn't do it. I did the cross step the whole time. It's hard to explain, but you step your left foot across your right. Then your right goes out to the right steps down and then steps across the left. Then the left goes out to the left and then across the right. You do that as you go forward. I ran out of room during the Cize It Up section since we did three 8 counts of this move!

Then we moved on to the African Chug. I gotta say that this could have been my favorite move. I love the African dancing when I watch So You Think You Can Dance. I'm sure I didn't look as good as they do when they do it, but it's just a fun move. It's another one that is hard to describe. You kind of alternate stomping out to the side and then your arms go to the same side as the stomping leg, but you're facing away from the stomping and the arms. It's fun! I liked it!

Then we moved on to Man Up. This was similar to The Manny in one of the original Cize workouts. With the Manny, we stayed in one spot, buth with Man Up, we moved forward a bit as we did it. So we sort of alternated stomping down with our feet as we stepped it slightly forward. Our hands started in fists at our hips and then they went up and down to the beat. The Manny was a move struggled with, but this seemed easier. I'm not sure if it's because I eventually figured out the Manny or if this was just easier. I'm not sure, but it was the last move!

The On Demand app on the Roku is a bit annoying because you have to scroll though all of the workouts to get to the one you want and my Roku is painfully slow in the workout room. It doesn't help that each routine has the full routine, the reverse angle, the Cize It Up round and the cool down. Plus each "DVD" has the ab workout so the ab workout is on the On Demand List after every other workout. It's so annoying!

I had fun. I'll do it again, but maybe not until after I do the others.

Review of Beachbody Les Mills Pump: Pump Extreme

Pump Extreme

This is the final Pump workout in the program. I still have two ab workouts to do, but this was the sixth and final workout with the bar and all the weights. I'm not sure what the ab workouts are like though. Maybe we use the bar in them. I'm not sure. Just as a reminder, this program has been discontinued by Beachbody, but you can still get it on eBay. I got my program either last year or the year before. I can't remember. I just never got around to doing it because I was scared of using the barbell for the lunges and squats. I have to say that I wish I hadn't been afraid because this really is an awesome program and they have modifiers so you don't have to use the bar with the squats and lunges if you don't want ti. If only someone had told me sooner!

I told myself that I wasn't going to do this workout today because my biceps were still sore from loading windows at work the other day, but I did it because I'm a sucker for punishment. I managed to get through the bicep track better than the chest track though which surprised me!

The Workout

The workout was just under an hour. It's listed as 55 minutes in the book, but it was closer to 60 minutes. That's just the actual workout too. Leave yourself extra time since there's the commercial before the workout plus you have to listen to the instructor introductions. That will add a couple minutes.

Track 1

This is the warm up track. I used 5 pound weights. The track lasts just over 5 minutes. We started out with deadlifts with a couple different tempos. Then we did deadrows with different tempos. Then we moved on to the Upright Row at different tempos. Then we moved on to squats with different tempos. Then my favorite! Lunges! (I hate lunges) Then we did some Overhead Presses. Then we did some deadrows with an underhand grip. Then we moved to bicep curls.

Track 2

The first track was all about the squats. I used 10 pounds for this one. This track just over 5 minutes. We did squats for the whole time. We did different tempos and bottom halves. This was a very long track! It's a lot of squats! We took a couple short breaks when we changed our feet to go wider.

Track 3

This was the chest track. I did this with 5 pounds and on my bench. The track was just over 5 minutes. We did chest presses at different tempos. My triceps were toast after a minute or two into this track. I took several breaks during this one. The entire track was chest presses with different tempos. It would have been nice to mix it up just a bit. With about a minute to go, we did take a short break.

Track 4

This was all about the back and legs. I used 10 pounds for this section. This section started out with an instructional lesson on the clean and press. The track was just under 5 minutes. We started off with Deadlifts. Then we did the Clean and Press with a Deadrow. Then we did a wider grip for Triple Rows. After that, we putt he bar down and stretched out our backs. We went through that sequence a few times. I really like this track. It's the same track that they put in all of the other workouts, but I don't get bored with this one. I like that there are a few different moves so we're not doing the same exact move for the entire track. I really like the track too so even though it's a bit repetitive with the other workouts, I like it so I'm okay with it. The last round started with the clean and press and ended with a super slow deadlift.

Track 5

This was all about the triceps. Mine were already killing me so I wasn't really looking forward to this one! The track was about 4-1/2 minutes. We started standing up and using a plate to do overhead tricep extensions at different tempos. I started out with the 5 pound plate, but switched to a two pound dumbbell at some point. My triceps are soooooooooo wimpy! Then we got down on our hands and knees. We had a plate (or dumbbell for me) in one hand and did tricep kickbacks. I had a hard time supporting my weight on my hand that was on the floor. My triceps were that fried! Then we did tricep pushups before doing the tricep extensions on the other side. Then more tricep pushups. The pushups were crazy hard! I didn't even try to do them on my toes. I couldn't barely do them on my knees!

Track 6

This track was all about the biceps. I used 5 pound weights. I thought about skipping the bar since I knew this would be a challenging track for my because my biceps were already sore. The track was about 4-1/2 minutes. It was another Pink song! Raise Your Glass! It's weird to hear it with someone else singing it. We spent the bulk of the track just doing biceep curls at different tempos. We did some bottom halves too. This was a really long track! I do better when we have a mix of moves. The bicep and chest tracks were a bit repetitive for me. We did do some underhand grip deadrows in this to mix it up, but we didn't od many of them. I had to skip a few reps in this track and I'm pretty sure my biceps are going to be killing me tomorrow!

Track 7

This track was all about the legs. I stayed with 5 pounds on this since I knew it was going to be a bunch of lunges. I hate lunges! They kill me so I didn't want too much weight. The track lasted just over 5 minutes. We started with squats. Then did lunges on one side, back to squats, back to lunges on the other side. Rinse repeat. We mixed up the tempos and added some bottom halves in there. I hate bottom halves on lunges. I hate lunges. I hate bottom halves. LOL. This is not my favorite track, but this was probably my favorite Legs track that we've done in the program. It was nice having the squats to break things up.

Track 8

This was the shoulder track. We didn't use the bar for this track. We started out with two plates. Well, I started out with my 2 pound dumbbells. We started out on the floor and then go up. The track lasted just over five minutes. We did some rear delt raises and mixed up the tempos. It didn't take long for my shoulders to fry out. I probably shouldn't even do this track since my left shoulder has issues, but I haven't had it checked yet. I probably should. Then we got up and did side raises with the plates. I kept my 2 pound dumbbells since my shoulders are just so wimpy. Then we did the Mac Raise at different tempos. One arm goes up in front and the other comes up but it's bent and comes up on the side. Then we did upright rows. I would have done the 5 pound weights on the barbell, but I didn't have the barbell set up so I used the 2 pound dumbbells. I like these. Then we did overhead presses. I used the 2 pounds weights still. I would have used the bar if it had been set up. Then we did more pushups. Why oh why must we do so many pushups. I didn't bother trying to do any on my toes. It was nice to have the different moves since it helps break things up.

Track 9

This was all about the abs! We didn't use any weights on this one. This track was just under 5 minutes. We did it all on our backs on the floor. We bent our knees at 90 degrees with our feet up off the floor. We touched our feet down to the floor and picked them back up at different tempos. Then we did crunches with a two count up and a two count down. We alternated between the two moves a couple times. Then we added an oblique twist after the crunches. Then we did the whole series again a couple times.

Track 10

This was the cool down track. It wasn't as long as some of the other cool down tracks have been. I feel like we didn't really get a good enough stretch. I should have done some extra stretching, but I just didn't want to do anything other than sit down and let my legs stop shaking. The track lasted just over four minutes.

Overall Thoughts

I liked that this workout had a bicep section. I was seriously thinking we were neglecting our biceps in the beginning. Although, maybe all of the deadlift and deadrow stuff would have been enough for my biceps if I was just starting out. I'm glad that I didn't set out to do this entire program by the calendar. I like the workouts. I really do, but I find them a bit repetitive. Most of the workouts have the same moves. The tempos might change and there are some minor differences like the tricep tracks are different, but the program could get a bit boring if I were to do it for 90 days three times a week. I really like these workouts for my Sunday strength training to go along with my Wild Movement plan from The Wild Diet

I've got two more workouts to do from this program and then I think I'm going back to Hammer and Chisel. I'll do the ab workouts during the week before work I think. I might try to get in some of the On Demand Cize workouts too.

Polar M400 Screen Shots

Looks like I didn't lose the connection with the heart rate monitor this time. Maybe all of my issues were because the battery was starting to go dead. I'm not really sure. I don't know that I really care either. As long as it's working now! Check out that calorie burn! I really got my heart rate up there doing this one.

Review of Beachbody Les Mills Pump: Pump Revolution

Les Mills Pump Revolution

Today was Sunday which means it's strength training day! I love strength training day! I have to admit that I'm quite the slacker in the exercise department lately. I've come to skipping my workouts and sleeping in an extra 45 minutes each morning. It was a nice little experiment to see if it would actually help me lose weight. I had some initial success with that in the first week, but not so much in subsequent weeks. I don't know why it has to be so incredibly difficult for me to lose weight. I workout like crazy, but don't lose weight. I don't workout and then lose weight initially and then it stopped. I eat all "healthy" and don't lose weight. I go Low Carb High Fat and don't lose weight. It's incredibly frustrating! Enough rambling though and on to the workout.

Over the last few Sundays, I've been doing Les Mills Pump. I'm not doing the whole program as laid out in the calendar. I just wanted to check out the workouts and finally get around to doing them. They fit in nicely with the Wild Movement plan that I was trying to follow. This is a discontinued program with Beachbody, but you can still buy it on eBay. The workouts are awesome. They make me hurt in a good way. I don't think I could have done this program straight through for the 90 days. The first workout made me hurt for like three days! The workout I did two weeks ago made me hurt for four days. I'm kinda of scared how long this one will make me hurt. it's the longest one of the program so far. I think I only have one more Pump workout. There are three other workouts, but they aren't the regular ones. Two of them are all about abs and the third is cardio I think. I'll get to them eventually.

The Workout

This workout was 57 minutes. It was longer than the rest. I knew a longer workout was coming, but I had hoped that it would wait until the last workout. I was running out of time to do a workout today and I wasn't really in the mood to do strength training. I wanted to sit on the couch and read. Sunday is my day off from work and hubby isn't home. I have control over the TV for the entire day! I could sit on the couch and do nothing, but nope! I have to do my editing job, workout, write a blog post about my workout, do food prep for the week, do the dishes, do my laundry and cook dinner. So much for a day off! Okay, I got up and did the workout though because I feel like a total slacker. I didn't get up for a walk any day this week and hubby's belly was off yesterday so we didn't go for a walk. That's a week without exercise. I do get some walking done at work though, and on Friday, I even helped pull a millwork order so there was lifting and walking involved. Wow, I'm really rambly today!

Track 1

This was the warm up track. I used 5 pound weights for it. The track lasted just over 5 minutes. It was led by Les Mills Jr. We started off with Deadlifts. We mixed up the tempo a little bit. Then we did some Deadrows. I love deadlifts and deadrows! I'm not really sure, but I did. Then we did some Upright Rows. We mixed with the tempo too. I like Upright Rows! Then we moved to squats and mixed up the tempo a bit. I not a huge fan of squats, but they work! Then onto lunges! I hate lunges. The we did the Overhead Press. My shoulders are so week. The 5 pound weights were a bit heavy for a warm up. More deadlifts! More deadrows! Then we did Triple Deadrows. I really really like these. Ten we did some bicep curls. Then we did some Bicep Rows. This was a new one for me.

Track 2

This was all about the squat! I went up to the 10 pound weights for this one. I thought about keeping it on the 5s since I knew it was a longer workout, but I went big. We had the weights up over our shoulders. We did a narrowish stance and did a bunch of squats with different tempos. I'm so not a fan of the bottom halves! They are soooooo hard! This track was about 5 minute. It was a very long 5 minutes! You don't get much of a break during any of this track. She has you shake your legs out every so often, but it's intense! My legs were shaking by the time this track was over. I kept up the pace for most of it, but there were times I was a little bit slow.

Track 3

This was the chest track. I went with the 5 pound weights for this and used my bench. I kind of regretted using the bench. The extra range of motion makes this crazy intense. This track was just under 5 minutes which was a crazy long time! We started off with chest presses and changed up the tempo. The bottom halves of these were soooooo hard. I had to skip a few reps in this. It was just way too much for my chest and triceps. The entire track was chest presses at different tempos.

Track 4

This track was all about the Back and Legs. This track was just over 5 minutes. We started off with Deadlifts at different tempos. Then we did the Clean and Press with a Deadrow. Then we did a wide grip Triple Row. We did three sets of that and had a break in between each set. I really like this track since I like all of the moves in it. I used the 10 pound weights for this one and really felt it in my back. I haven't been feeling these workouts in my back, but I've been doing this track with the 5 pound weights because my legs couldn't handle the 10s. This track ended with a bunch of Triple Rows. I really felt those by the end!

Track 5

This track was for the Triceps. I used the five pound weights on the bar. I kind of regretted that! My triceps are so wimpy! So we started out doing what they call Tricep Extensions and what I've always known as Skull Crushers. This track was about four minutes. It was probably the longest four minutes of my life! After an eternity of Skull Crushers, we did chest presses, but the bar was done low on our chest so it was all about the triceps. We alternated between skull crushers and the chest presses for three rounds. We changed up the tempo. I had to take a few breaks. This was torture! I probably should have just used the baa! When there was a minute left, we got up and did tricep extensions up over our heads using a single plate. I used a five pound weight for this. It was crazy hard!

Track 6

This track was about the biceps. I was so excited to get biceps! It was also cool that it was a Pink song that I really like. we did bicep curls for about three minutes straight. We changed the tempo up a few times. I have to admit that this track was a lot harder than I thought it would be. I had to take a few breaks in this one too! I'm not sure if my biceps were just getting more work during the back section than I thought or if my biceps are just getting wimpier!

Track 7

Then we did another Leg track. I stuck with the 5 pound weights since this was the lunge section and I suck at lunges. We started with Squats with different tempos. They did a few different variations with thew weights on this one. The guys had the bar up over their shoulders. Two of the girls had a plate in each hand. The other two girls had one plate. Then we did lunges! I took a few breaks during the lunge section. This section wasn't as bad as the lunge section in the last workout though. THis was only about four minutes and we started and ended with squats so the lunge section was pretty short. It was still torture though even though we didn't do bottom halves!

Track 8

This track was all about the shoulders. My shoulders are sooooooooooooooo wimpy! This track lasted six minutes! How cruel is that! We started out with push ups which was even more cruel!I hate push ups! I did them all on my knees. My triceps were killing me. I wasn't very stretched out with these either. After a little over a minute, we got up and did rear delt raises with the plates. I used my 2 pound dumbbells for these because I'm such a wimp for shoulders! Then we got up and did side raises with our arms bent at the elbows. We did different tempos. Torture! It just kept getting worse too! We did Mac Raises. These are sooooooooooooooo hard! I can't really explain them either. Then we did upright raises with the barbell. I just used the barbell without any weights on this one. We did a few different tempos. Then we did should presses with a few different tempos. My shoulders were toast by this point. I had to skip a few reps and I was only using the bar!

Track 9

This track was all about the abs. This track was the last working track. It lasted just under 4 minutes. We used a single plate. The music was Cherry Pie which was just weird. So we did crunches with the plate up by hour heads. Then we put our feet  up in the air with the knees at a 90 degree angle. We had the weight at our stomach and then arced our arms back so the weight was behind our heads. Our legs stayed still at first and then we alternated touching a foot down to the floor as the weight weight back. Then we did both legs at the same time. Then we alternated the legs again but didn't touch them down. Then we added both legs straight out as the weight went back over our heads. Then we went through it all again. Then we rolled over for Hovers! I now them as a plank. I did them on my knees cuz I was being wimpy. So we rocked forward and then back and then held the plank. We did that series twice.

Track 10

The final track was the cool down! We went through a series of stretches. It lasted just under 4 minutes. I'm not going to go over all the moves, I liked the cool down, but I didn't feel like we held any of the stretches long enough. I did some Downward Dog after I was done to try and get more of a stretch in my hamstrings and calves. I'm seriously scared about how bad I'm going to hurt tomorrow. I can't forget to roll tonight!

Overall, I really enjoyed this workout. It was nice to get a bicep track. I've felt like biceps have been the forgotten muscle group during this program. I wasn't so thrilled with the tricep track since my triceps get plenty of action during the chest track, but it's good for me to do stuff I don't love doing! I do find some of the tracks a bit repetitive though. We spent a really long time just doing squats. The back and leg track seems to be pretty much the same moves in each of the workouts. I think I might get bored if I were to try the entire calendar. Fortunately for me, I don't have to find that out since I don't plan on doing the whole calendar. I like doing them once a week, but nore than that just isn't going to happen.

Polar M400 Screen Shots

You can tell when I was doing lunges and squats and when I was laying down by looking at the heart rate chart there. At first I thought that I had lost connection and it was being weird, but I'm pretty sure it was accurate and didn't lose connection on there which is the first time in a long time I haven't lost the connection! Check out that calorie burn!

Review of Beachbody Les Mills Pump: Flow

Les Mills Pump: Flow

A few weeks ago, I tarted doing Les Mills Pump on Sundays for my strength training aspect of Wild Movement. I've done the first three workouts so far. They are Pump Challenge, Pump and Burn and Pump and Shred. These workouts are pretty intense. The one from last week, Pump and Shred, made my legs hurt for four days. I kid you not. Keep in mind, I skipped rolling that night, but even then, I would have still hurt for at least two days and probably three. I was looking forward to doing the fourth workout in the program today, but I wasn't looking forward to being in pain for four days. I'm getting braces put on my teeth tomorrow. Yup, I'm 40 years old and I'm getting braces. I'm pretty sure the first week is going to be hard enough fro me without having crazy DOMS, so I went with Yoga today! Les Mill Pump is a weight lifting program, but it does come with a Yoga workout and also a Cardio workout. I went for Yoga today! It's been awhile since I've done Yoga so I was pretty happy to get to do it today!

Oh I forgot to mention that Les Mills Pump has been discontinued by Beachbody. You can still find it on eBay though. It's a great program. It causes me crazy pain, but that's a good thing right? No pain, no gain. That's what they say at least. Although, I don't want to gain. I want to lose! I want to lost a lot!

The Workout

This workout is just under 20 minutes. That's a pretty decent length of time with the right poses. I did find it to be a bit short for this one though. It mixed some strength poses in with some stretching poses. I would have preferred a longer stretching segment at the end and a shorter strength. This is supposed to be an active recovery workout. The more stretching the better in my opinion. There were four tracks in this one. You can play it with subtitles or without and you can play it with the music pumped up or not. I chose no subtitles and no pumped music. I wanted to be able to hear the instructors since it was my first time doing this workout.

Track 1

This one was led by Corey. I haven't seen him in the other workouts yet, but I've only done three. The first track was Vinyasa type yoga. It was also the only section that really had a Flow. The segment was actually called Flow too. Imagine that. So we started with Mountain Pose, and then went into a Forward Fold. Then we did Runner's Pose. Then we went into Downward Dog. Then back to Runner's Pose. Then we went back to Forward Fold and back to Mountain. This segment was about 5-1/2 minutes and we pretty much went through this series a few times with some changes. We added some Crocodile, some Plank, some Cobra and some Upward Dog in there. We went a bit fast through this and I wasn't really sure what we were doing without watching them. It wasn't really all I had hoped for and more, but it was my first time doing it, so I'm sure I could do better if I did it again.

Track 2

We started out with Crescent Pose. This segment was about 4 minutes. We held the Crescent Pose on one side for what felt like forever! We did a few different things with our arms, but by the end of this pose, my leg was killing me! We switched sides and did it again and held it again for what seemed like an eternity. It was really less than a minute, but it felt like forever. I had to take a couple breaks on the second leg. Then we did Warrior 2 for what seemed like a year. Then we moved to Extended Warrior. The modifier stayed there and then others put their hand down on the floor. I think that turns it into Right Angle. Then we went into Eagle. I'm not sure how it got that name, but I don't get most of these. Then we switched sides and did it again. I had to take more breaks on this side. This was also led by Corey.

Track 3

We switched instructors for the third track. Jackie took over. We go ton the floor for this one. This track lasted just over 4 minutes. We did a modified Lotus. I've never done Lotus before or at least I didn't know I was doing it. I really felt this one. It felt great! We stretched our arms out in front of us and then stretched them up. Then we switched sides and repeated what we had just done. Then we did Swan Pose. This was another new one for me. I'm also not sure which part was Swan because she moved us into what I thought was Pigeon quite quickly. I love Pigeon. It makes me feel soooooo stretched out when I'm done! I love love love it! Then we switched sides.

Track 4

This was also led by Jackie. It lasted just under 5 minutes. This was all about Spinal Twist. We did these seated though. I was surprised we never got down on our backs. We crossed the foot over one knee and then pulled the knee in as we twisted around. She did an advanced move where you picked up your foot while you did the twist. I really liked that part. Then we switched side. Then we did Cobbler's Pose. I like this one. Then we did a forward bend with our legs out in front of us. Our knees were bent a little bit. Then we straightened out the legs with the bend. Then we kept one hand up by our feet and stretched the other back and twisted the upper body. Then we did the other side. Then we went back into a forward fold with our legs straight out in front of us. Then we were done.

I really liked the last two segments, but I wish they had been longer. I felt stretched out after I was done, but not as stretched out as I would have liked. Part of it was because it was my first time doing it so I had to pay attention to watching them, but part of it was because we just missed out on some really good stretches. It was a good workout, but just not long enough for my taste.

I don't have a Polar M400 screen shot for this because the watch isn't in the mood to sync with my phone and I'm not in the mood to figure out why. I still have food prep and dinner to deal with.

Review of Beachbody Les Mills Pump: Pump and Shred

Pump and Shred

This is my third working from Beachbody Les Mills Pump. I'm not following the 90 day program. I'm just doing the workouts on Sundays. This program has been discontinued by Beachbody, but I'm writing about it anyway. You can still get it on eBay and I like to write about my workouts so I'm writing about it! I had this program for months before I actually did any of the workouts. I'm kinda bummed that I didn't start it sooner, but I honestly don't know if I would have made it through the program had I tried to do the entire 90 day program. I survived Body Beast, but this program is killer! My whole body is shaking by the time this thing is over! Body Beast focused on a specific area of the body with each workout except for Total Body, but this is a Total Body workout in every workout. Body Beast also had a lost of rest between sets, but this is constant reps for like 5 minutes on a specific area. They mix up the speed of the reps too so it really makes it intense. Sometimes we do a 4/4 count, so it's four counts down and four up. Sometimes it's a 3/1 so it's 3 counts down and one up. Other times it's a 2/2 count so it's two down and two up. Then there are singles so it's just down and up (or up and down if you're doing chest and shoulder stuff). There are also bottom halves where you go down and then halfway up and back down. There are also times where we go down and hold it for a couple counts before we go up again. They mix it up pretty well.

The Workout

This one was about 45 minutes which is longer than Pump Challenge and Pump and Burn. It follows the same basic flow as the others though. There are _________ different segments. Each one focuses on a specific area. The segments last about 4 to 6 minutes each. There's a bit of a rest between segments where you can change you weights and you can do a little stretching. Oh and don't forget the water!

Ttrack 1 (Warm Up)

This one had a warm up. I don't think Pump Challenge had one, but Pump and Burn did. Rach did the warm up. She's one of the trainers from Les Mills Combat. The warm up was about 4 minutes and 20 seconds. We started out with Deadlifts. I'm not going to say the different counts this time. It takes too long to write the post if I do that. After the Deadlifts we did dead rows. I really like deadlifts and dead rows! I used 5 pound weights for this one since it was the warm up. Then we did a split stance and did upright rows. I'm not really sure why we do the split stance for these. It's a bit awkward for me. We don't really go into a lunge. We just have most of our weight on one foot and the other foot is back. Then we did shoulder presses. I I hate shoulder presses! My shoulders are so wimpy. Then the bar went up over our shoulders and we did squats. Then we did lunges! I really hate lunges. So this was called the warm up, but this was work. Warm ups are usually about getting your body warm by running in place and stuff, but this was work work! Then we did the other leg and then brought the bar back to the wrong. We switched to an underhand grip and did some dead lifts and dead rows. They really do feel differently with the underhand grip. Then we did some bicep curls. We didn't spend much time on the bicep curls and we didn't do anything else for the biceps for the rest of the workout. I'm not sure why we don't do much with the biceps in this.

Track 2 (Legs)

I went with 10 pound weights on each side for the legs. I've got strong legs so why not! We had the bar up over our shoulders again. We started out with squats with a normal foot position. This section was like 5-1/2 minutes. We did three rounds, but we didn't take breaks between the rounds so I'm not really sure what the rounds refer to. This round wasn't that bad, but the bottom halves were killer. With 2 minutes to go, we took a short break and did a wider stance. Then we squatted for another couple minutes.

Track 3 (Chest)

I went back down to the 5 pound weights on each side for this one. I did it on my bench too which makes it harder since you get a bigger range of motion. This section was just under 5 minutes. We did a bunch of chest presses. We mixed up the temp, but spent a lot of time just doing chest presses. This section started out easy, but ended up pretty challenging by the time it was over! With 45 minutes left, we took a short break and moved to Push Ups! We were supposed to do 16, but I wasn't as fast as them, so I didn't get them all done.

Track 4 (Back)

Dan from Les Mills Combat did this track. We got a little break while he taught us the clean and press. I put the 10 pound weights back on the bar. I kinda regretted that later! We started out with the dead lift. Then we went into the clean and press with a dead row. We did triple dead rows. Then back to the deadlifts, then clean and press with dead rows and then the triple dead rows. With a minute to go, we took a little break. We stretched out the back a little bit and then did more clean and press with the dead row!

Track 5 (Legs)

I went back to the 5 pound weights for this round. My legs were already shaking and I hate lunges! We had the weight up on our shoulders again. We started out with lunges. We did different counts for a bit. Then we did a section of squats and then did lunges on the other side and then more squats. I had to take a lot of breaks during the lunges. My mind wasn't in it and my legs were killing me! They were shaking so badly too!

Track 6 (Shoulders)

This track was about 4-1/2 minutes. We started off with push ups. We different temps with it. I did them on my knees because my shoulders were already killing me. Then we got down on one knee and did rear delt raises with the plates. This were torture. I used my five pound weights. I had to skip a rep or two. Then we got up and did lateral raises. I started with the five pound plates, but then I grabbed my two pound weights. These are killer! Then we did the Mac Raise. We did this in a different workout. It's hard to explain, but one arm goes straight up in front of you and the other is bent and goes up kind of to the side. Then you switch sides. I had to take breaks on this one too even with my two pound weights. Then we did shoulder presses with the plates. I did my 2 pound dumbbells though because my shoulders were on fire! I still had to take breaks even with the two pound weights!

Track 7 (Abs)

This was the last working track. It was also without weights! YAY! Although, it was abs and I hate abs! We started out with "The Hover" or as everyone else on the planet calls it "The Plank." While we did it, we did circles with our arms. This was kinda torturous. I did these on my knees. I thought about trying them on my toes, but I said screw it! Then we held the hover. Then we got onto our backs and did crunches! We did a couple different tempos with it. Then our feet came up off the floor and we did oblique stuff. One elbow came up to the opposite knee and the other foot tapped down to the floor. Then we straightened the leg instead of touching it down. Then we reached our hand across to the opposite knee and kept the leg action going, That section was HARD!

Track 8 (Cool down)

This lasted just under 4 minutes. It was a pretty long cool down section for a Beachbody workout. I liked that part! We did a variety of stretches while on our backs. We also did some up on one knee and then some standing up. I'm not going to list them all. It was pretty much the same stretching segment as Pump and Burn

Polar M400 Screen Shot

My heart rate monitor needed a new battery! I was a bit surprised. I guess I should have been surprised that it lasted as long as it did. I think I got the device last June or July and it lasted until April of this year. That's a pretty good battery life I would think. The sucker is a royal pain to get out though. I had to Google how to change it. It says to use the clip on the strap to turn the battery cover, but I ended up using a quarter. Then you have to pry the battery out of the cover using something like a toothpick according to them. I used a super tiny screw driver that we have. We're not toothpick people. I'm rambling, but I thought it was important to put the info in here in case anyone found this page while searching for the web for instructions on removing the stupid battery.

I was surprised by my calorie burn for this workout. I was also surprised by how high my heart rate got for this one. It didn't feel like it was that high. I'm not really sure what's up with some of those weird dips, but whatever. I don't really like the new layout. The color red is an angry color. It shouldn't be on here. Oh well. I can't do anything about that.
