Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds Get Up and Get Started 1 Mile Walk Revisited

I did this one two workouts in a row, but I woke up feeling great, so I did this one standing up. I went pretty slow. I kept my knee lifts, kicks and kickbacks very gentle and I didn't sit down into any of the side steps. You can read a play by play of the workout from my original post back in January of 2014. You can also read my modified chair version from last week.

I didn't use the weights either. It actually felt really great! I felt like a normal human being. I was in a pretty decent mood for most of the day after the workout too! However, once the ibuprofen wore off, I realized hat I felt great when I woke up because of the ibuprofen still in my system and not because I was magically healed. Lesson learned.

I'm really looking forward to getting out of this boot and being able to exercise like a normal person. I forgot how much exercise really does make me feel better. I don't necessarily love the experience while it's happening, but it does improve my mood for the rest of the day. I've been pretty bummed lately and having a it of a woe is me attitude on life. I'm just so tired of all the baggage life has to offer. A lot of crap has happened over the last three years and I'm ready for it to be over with. I'm hoping that once the car situation gets handled, it will be a nice calm year. I need a nice calm year.

I don't have any charts of the workout. One of these days, I'll get through the bags in the garage, but right now I still have a naked Christmas tree in my living room, so I'm not really optimistic about getting that heart rate monitor anytime in the next few days or even weeks at this point.

Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds Get Up and Get Started 1 Mile Walk Revisited

I'm still in my boot while I recover from breaking my foot three and a half months ago, but I need to be working out. I made a plan to do some form of exercise Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I must stick with that. I need to get into the routine before the boot comes off because once the boot comes off, I have to go pretty hard core on this. I'm not talking about running once the boot is off, but it needs to be more than 15 minutes of chair exercise once the boot is off.

I decided to try this Walk Away the Pounds workout in a chair. I knew it was going to take a bit of modifying, but I wanted someone telling me when it was time to change to a new move even if I wasn't doing the exact move that everyone else was doing. I have to get a bit creative while I'm in the boot. It was a good thought, but it wasn't exactly a great experience.

You can read a full play by play of the workout on my post from way back in January of 2014 when I wrote about the Walk Away the Pounds 5-Day Fit Walk Get Up and Get Started 1 Mile. This would have been one of my first workouts after starting the blog. Wow!!

So the arm movements were easy since I didn't have to modify those. Although, my shoulders did get a bit tired during the workout and I wasn't even using weights. When she had us walking in the video, I just lifting my feet up off the floor a little and marked in place in the chair. We did a lot of this and it was actually a bit challenging as time went on. I was actually thinking it might make me sore the next day. It didn't, but I thought it was going to. When she did knee lifts, I tried to raise my knee up higher and gently lower it back down so I didn't whack my foot too hard on the floor. When she did kicks, I did a kicking motion, but it didn't have much oomph to it. When she did side steps, I got all sorts of messed up in my brain. I tried to move my right foot right and then my left foot right. Then my left foot left and my right foot left. It didn't really go so well and I just gave up with trying to convince my feet to go where my brain wanted them to go and just let them go where they wanted as long as they were going sideways. When she did kickbacks, I ended up tapping my toot up onto a kitchen steps stool that I had. When she did double side steps, I don't even know what my feet did. I could barely handle single sidesteps. Doubles were just madness.

This workout did get my heart rate up a bit when I was doing stuff with my arms. When there were no arm movements, it wasn't much of a workout as far as cardio is concerned since I wasn't making very big movements.

This wasn't very fun or exciting, but it got the job done. I moved. I felt better for having gotten through the first week of my new plan of working out Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I learned that it really sucks working out in a chair and I learned just how far I've let things go over the past year. I can only blame so much on my foot. I've let all of life's struggles get in the way of taking care of myself and I need to change that. I need to put me first for a change. I need to tell other people that I can't be everything to everyone. I need to focus on me and getting rid of this fat for good. I'm not even sure how much weight I've gained because I can't get on the scale because of my foot (or at least that's my excuse for not getting on the scale and facing reality) What I do know though......I know that I'm wearing the biggest pair of pants that I've ever worn. It's a bigger size than when I started the blog and buying those jeans at Walmart and having them be the biggest pair in the store was what prompted me to start working out again. I'm tired of this up and down crap. I'm tired of letting other things become more important than me.

I don't have any graphs or charts of the workout. I still haven't found my heart rate monitor. I haven't actually looked for it yet though.

Beachbody Rockin' Body Mark, Move & Groove

Rockin' Body Mark, Move & Groove

The other day, I did Cize with Shaun T. I got through it and wanted to do more dancing workouts! Cize hasn't been released yet, so I picked another Shaun T. dancing workout on Beachbody On Demand! I gotta say that I think I'm hooked!

To give you a little information about myself.......I can't dance, but I want to! When I hear music in the car, I want to move. There are times at work where I'll be walking out in the shop when an awesome song comes on the radio and I just want to throw my hands in the air and shake it like I just don't care. I lack the confidence to actually do that though. I keep my inner groove girl deep inside. I've tried a ton of dancing workouts, and none of them have gone well up until Cize the other day. I have issues with choreography and I have issues mimicking someone who's facing me. I do much better with someone who is facing away from me, but the whole mirror thing just doesn't work for me. Since Cize went so well, I decided to try Rockin' Body on Beachbody On Demand! I'm so glad I did!

So the basic program comes with 7 workouts. I did two of them this morning. I'll write about the second one in a second post, but this one was a 15 minute introduction program. It was called Mark, Move & Groove. This one lets your learn the format of the workouts and get to know Shaun T.

So this workout has the same basic set up as Cize, but it's a bit watered down in terms of choreography. We started out marching in place, but you put a little groove into it. Then we mixed it up a bit and did four steps out wide and then four steps in close. After we practiced that a few times, we learned a new move and then tied the two of them together. I don't remember the whole routine, but it was a lot of simple moves strung together. We did stuff like two steps in place and then a cha cha cha to the side. We did some tap outs where we stepped out twice with one leg. We did a push and pull thing where as we stepped to the side we raised our hands up over our head and then pulled them down to the opposite hip.

This workout was awesome! It wasn't a huge calorie burn, but it was only 15 minutes. It was fun and I was able to do all of the moves! While I was doing this workout, I was reminded a bit of Walk Away the Pounds. Before I lose you, please keep reading. Okay, so Walk Away the Pounds has simple moves that anyone can do. So many of the people on the message boards for Walk Away the Pounds say that they do those workouts because they are simple to follow and they can't do complicated stuff. I'm one of those people. I can't do choreography, but I did this and I had fun with it. If you took the groove out of this, I could totally see Leslie Sansone leading it. All of the moves were things that could have been in one of her workouts. I can't wait until Thursday when I get to try another one of these!

This program is part of Beachbody On Demand or you can buy the DVD set.

Polar M400

Here are the screen shots from my Polar M400. It wasn't a big calorie burn, but you can't expect much in 15 minutes. I didn't get my heart rate up too high. I'm not sure what that 196 is from. I don't think that really happened.

Leslie Sansone Workouts that I've done Part 1

I've done a lot of Leslie Sansone workouts and I thought it would be a good idea to put the list all in one place. I'm still working on doing more, so this is just the first installment.

1 Mile Workouts

Start! Walking at Home with Leslie Sansone

This was another Exercise TV download. You can get this off of Amazon now. It was a good workout. Leslie was by herself in this one and that's always a bonus. I had 5 minutes of vigorous activity and burned 242 calories. Not bad for such a short period of time.

Exercise TV Leslie Sansone Walk n' Tone Intermediate

I wasn't able to get a picture of this one since it was just a digital download. This was pretty much a commercial for the Rock n' Tone shoes disguised as a workout. It was short and simple. It was a decent workout, but the commercial aspect of it was a bit annoying. I burned 244 calories and had 8 minutes of vigorous activity, so it was pretty intense.

Walk Indoors! Interval with Leslie Sansone

Here is another 1 mile walk off the Internet so I don't have a DVD cover shot for this one. I burned 211 calories and had 7 minutes of vigorous activity. This one had jogging segments in it.

Walk Away the Pounds Muscle Mile One

This is another one that uses the weighted balls. I've done it with them and without them. I had less calories, less steps and less minutes of vigorous activity with the balls. I must have moved my feet slower to keep my arms going.

Walk Away the Pounds 1 Mile Power Walk

I burned 185 calories and had no minutes of vigorous activity. This workout uses the weighted balls, but you don't have to use them. This DVD has four workouts on it.

Walk Away the Pounds 1 Mile Get up and Get Started

I'm not sure how many calories I burned because the I have no workout tab for that day. This one uses the weighted balls, but you don't have to use them.

This workout was just a bonus workout and it's a good thing because the end got cut off. It was an okay workout, but it was designed for seniors. I burned 209 calories and had no vigorous activity.

Leslie Sansone Walk n' Tone Advanced Walk

This was another digital download. It was was 22 minutes. I don't remember if she said how many miles it was. It had more intense moves than the Intermediate walk. It was still just a big commercial for the shoes.

Just Walk 5 Day Ultimate Walk Plan

This has walking segments and strength training segments. There are five 1 mile walking segments. You can do them individually or you can stack them in any order.

Leslie Sansone's Walk Diet 1 Mile

This was a big slow and a bit drab. I only got 1 mile of vigorous activity and only burned 160 calories.

2 Mile or 30 Minute Workouts

Walk Away the Pounds 30 Minute Walk from 5 Day Fit Walk

I burned 397 calories and had 12 minutes of vigorous activity doing this workout. There are four different workouts on the DVD that I have.

Walk Away the Pounds 2 Mile High Calorie Burn

I burned 339 calories and had 4 minutes of vigorous activity. There are four different workouts on the DVD that I have. This workout used the weighted balls, but you don't need to use them. I've done it with the weighted balls and without them.

Walk Away the Pounds Walk and Kick

This is a 30 minute workout with kicking and punching. It's not really a kickboxing workout, but it's different than her normal walking stuff so it was a nice change. I burned 355 calories and had 5 minutes of vigorous activity.

Just Walk Walk it Off in 30 Days Burn 30

This was a 30 minute walk. It didn't list the miles. The DVD has two workouts. They are Burn 30 and Firm 30. You're supposed to alternate these workouts for six days out of the week. You do that for 30 days and you should lose weight. I burned 372 calories and had 7 minutes of vigorous activity.

Just Walk Belly Blasting Walk 2 Mile

I burned 372 calories and had 8 minutes of vigorous activity. I wasn't a fan of this one because it was very bouncy. This is one of the newer workouts. When I say newer, I'm talking about the last decade.

Walk Aerobics Deluxe 2 Mile Walk

This was another oldie that I got from Netflix during my free trial. I burned 364 calories and had 9 minutes of vigorous activity. I apparently had a hard time following this workout. It was also filmed a few weeks after she had a baby, so you get to see a chubby Leslie. This DVD had a four mile option as well.

This workout used the Walk Belt. It was pretty brutal on my arms! I burned 380 calories and had 5 minutes of vigorous activity.

Walk Aerobics Deluxe Fat Burner Walk

This DVD came from Netflix. It had two workouts on it. This one was a 30 minute walk with strength training segments. I burned 265 calories, but had no minutes of vigorous activity. I learned something about lunges too! Woot woot!

Walk At Home Walk & Firm 30 Minute Walk

This one used the stretchie band. It had toning segments and walking segments. It was a good video. It came in my Walk Strong Deluxe set with the belt, the stretchie band the ankle cuffs. I burned 343 calories and had 9 minutes of vigorous activity.

Start! Walking with Leslie Sansone 2 Mile

Here is another workout from Exercise TV. You can get this one on Amazon as a DVD or a digital download. I burned 419 calories and had 14 minutes of vigorous activity.

Walk at Home The Big Burn 2 Miles of Intervals

This one had jogging segments. I burned 440 calories and had 19 minutes of vigorous activity.

Walk at Home Walk This Way

This was pretty basic and pretty slow. I got 1 minute of vigorous activity and burned 287 calories.

Walk Away the Pounds 2 Mile Live Walk

This was filmed in a mall in Pennsylvania. It was interesting to do once, but I doubt I would ever do it again. This one game from Gaiam TV also. I burned 361 and and got 18 minutes of vigorous activity.

Just Walk Walk Away Your Hips and Thighs 2 Mile walk

This one had a 2 mile walk and a strength training segment with the ankle cuffs. For the walk, I got 16 minutes of vigorous activity and burned 417 calories! Madness!

Walk Away the Pounds Walk and Jog

This had walking and jogging segments. I burned 347 calories and got 16 minutes of vigorous activity.

Walk Away the Pounds Express 2 Miles Brisk Walk

This one has the stretchie band. I burned 314 calories and had 8 minutes of vigorous activity.

This was a big drag and a bit slow. I only got 4 minute of vigorous activity and burned 304 calories.

Walk Away the Pounds Walk Away Your Stress

This was pretty intense for something called Walk Away Your Stress. I got 18 minutes of vigorous activity and burned 398 calories.

Walk Away the Pounds for Abs 2 Mile High Calorie Burn

This one has the walk belt. It's a similar name to another 2 mile Walk Away the Pounds workout, but that one used the weighted balls. I liked the workout, but it didn't use the belt much. I burned 325 calories and had 7 minutes of vigorous activity.

3 Mile Workouts

Walk Away the Pounds 3 Mile Super Fat Burning

This workout uses the weighted balls, but you don't need to use them. I've done this workout a few times. I've done it with the balls and without the balls. I had less steps with the balls, but I had more calories and  minutes of vigorous activity.

Walk At Home 3 Mile Weight Loss Walk

This walk used the hand weights, but I didn't have them so I didn't use them. I burned 581 calories and had 11 minutes of vigorous activity on this one.

Walk at Home Walk Away Your Waistline 3 Mile

This walk used the Walk Belt. I burned 534 calories and had 6 minutes of vigorous activity. I've done with with the belt and without the belt

Walk At Home Walk Your Belly Flat 3 Mile

This one had jogging! I burned 629 calories and had 26 minutes of vigorous activity.

Walk Slim 3 Fast Miles

This workout was intense! It didn't have any walk boosters, but it was intense anyway. I burned 594 calories and had 20 minutes of vigorous activity. Mary Kay led for part of the workout and she is brutal.

Walk Away the Pounds Express 3 Mile Advanced Walk

This one uses the stretchie band. I burned 589 calories and got 12 minutes of vigorous activity.

Start! Walking with Leslie Sansone 3 mile

This was another Exercise TV digital download. I liked this one.

Walk Aerobics 1-2-3 Mile Super Fat Burner

I watched this on Gaiam TV. It was an old one. It was also pretty dang intense. I don't know how many calories or vigorous minutes I got because my BodyMedia Bluetooth connection died.

4 Mile Workouts

Walk Slim Fast & Firm 4 Really Big Miles

This workout used the stretchie band, but I didn't have one when I got this from Netflix. I burned 723 calories and had 22 minutes of vigorous activity.

Walk Aerobics Deluxe Walk Weight Loss Walk 4 Mile

This was an old one from Netflix. It was crazy intense. These old ones are a lot more crazy than the new ones. She really changed things up from these to Walk Away the Pounds. She stacks the moves more in the old ones and does a bigger variety of moves. I burned 789 calories and had 16 minutes of vigorous activity.

Walk Aerobics Fat Burning Walk 4 Mile

This came from Netflix. It also had a 30 minute workout. Amazon has this listed as a 4 mile walk and there's a big 4 on the DVD cover, but it was shorter than a normal 4 mile walk. It was closer in time to a 3 mile walk, but there was a lot of jogging so maybe it was a 4 mile walk. It was intense and everyone had such big big hair!

Walk Away the Pounds Express 4 Mile Super Challenge

The four mile workout on this DVD did not use the stretchie band. I burned 714 calories and had 19 minutes of vigorous activity.

Walk Slim 4 Fast Miles

This one had jogging. I burned 660 calories and got 27 minutes of vigorous activity.

5 Mile Workouts

Walk At Home 5 Mile Advanced Walk

This walk was my first five mile walk. I made it through on my first try. I was pretty happy about that. Each mile has different things going on. The first mile used the hand weights, the second mile had jogging intervals, but no walk boosters. The third mile used the walk belt. The fourth mile had no walk boosters and no jogging, but it was fast. The fifth mile used the stretchy band.  I burned 928 calories and had 22 minutes of vigorous activity.

Just Walk Ultimate 5 Day Walk Plan

This workout has five one mile segments that can be played in any order. It also had 5 strength training segments. The DVD has a workout plan with a different walk each day. Each day has a different number of miles and a different body part for the strength training stuff.

Strength Training Workouts

Just Walk Belly Blasting Walk

There are three workouts on this DVD. There is a 2 mile walk and two separate floor routines. One has you on your back doing crunch type stuff and the other has you on your belly or your hands and knees doing other ab stuff.

Just Walk - Walk it Off in 30 Days

This workout has a Burn 30, a cardio routine, and Firm 30, a strength training routine. You alternate them six days a week and then have a rest day according to the plan on the back of the DVD. I would get bored doing the same 2 workouts for 30 days, so I've yet to do this.

Walk Aerobics Firm Up Fast Walk

This was called Firm Up Fast Walk, but it wasn't a walk. It was all about strength training. I burned 134 calories and had no minutes of vigorous activity. It was nice to see a chubby Leslie Sansone in this one! It was filmed less than two months after she had a baby.

Walk Aerobics Firm off Weight Walk

This one came from Netflix. It was an hour even though the jacket said 45 minutes. It was all strength training. It had three segments, and I should have just done the first two, but I got through them all! It says I burned 160 calories and had no minutes of activity at all. No moderate, no vigorous. NOTHING! Madness I say!

Just Walk 5 Day Ultimate Walk Plan

This has strength training segments and walking segments.

Just Walk Walk Away Your Hips and Thighs

This one used the ankle cuffs. It was short, but it was a decent workout. The DVD also had a 2 mile walk.

This was a nice short strength training workout with the weighted balls.
