Review of Daily Burn day 27: True Beginner Strength and Cardio 1

Day 27: True Beginner Strength and Cardio 1

I did four True Beginner workouts yesterday and OMG, I'm sore! It would be interesting to know if I would have been sore from just one of them, but I'll never know the answer to that question. I just know that my glutes, quads, inner thighs and outer thighs are yelling at me today! Wowzers! How did I repay myself for doing for workouts yesterday? I did two more today. I really am digging these True Beginner workouts. I like that the pace is pretty slow which means I can focus on going deeper into my squats and lunges and maybe that's why I'm so sore today.

The workout started off with some mobility stuff. The first move was jogging in place. Then we did some arm circles, pelvic circles, knee circles, ankle circles, reverse lunges and calf raises.  Then we had a short rest before starting the workout portion of the workout.

We started off with some squats. Some of them squatted by sitting into a chair and then they got away from the chair. We then did push ups using the chair. One of the people did them on her knees in front of the chair, but the others were up on their toes. I didn't have a chair, so I used my window seat. These were super hard! I had to take breaks. Even with the window seat changing the elevation and relieving some of the strain, I had to take breaks! Then more jogging or marching in place! Then more rest! I love rest! Then we did all three moves again.

Then we did sumo squats, tricep extensions and side step skaters. Then we rested! Then we did all three over again and then more rest!

Then it was time for some upper and lower body stretches. They were pretty easy.

Overall, this was another simple workout that got my heart rate up and made me work. I really like doing these even though they are a little campy. I like being able to do the stuff in the video and it's obviously doing something for me since I'm pretty sore today!

BodyMedia Screen Shot

They said I burned something like 600 calories, but my BodyMedia thinks it was around 200. I'm going to go with the BodyMedia on this one. No way I burned 600 calories in 25 minutes. If I could burn 600 calories in 25 minutes by doing this workout, I wouldn't be fat right now!

  1. I have a question. Do the numbers on your BodyMedia represent one workout of TB Strength and Cardio 1? The time on the BodyMedia is close to the time for one workout, 25:36, not 2. The calories burned, as shown on the video screen at the end of the workout is 330 not 600. If the number of calories burned on your BodyMedia is for one workout then TB is not too far off. I have wondered about the numbers displayed on the video for each of the TB workouts and am just curious since I do not have any electronic equipment. Thanks in advance for an answer to another fattie. LOL

    1. I pretty much took a break from the blog for awhile. I had some issues that needed to be dealt with. Sorry for not answering you. It's been awhile since I did this workout, but the BodyMedia screen shot was indeed for a single workout. It's possible I read the screen wrong or my 600 was a typo.
