What I did and why
I did NOTHING today! Today was REST day! I ADORE rest day! Sorry for all of the caps, but I really do look forward to rest day. Thursday is my favorite rest day because it's actually a rest day. Well, I still have to go to work and I walk quite a bit at work, but I get to sleep in on Thursday rest day! I don't have to work out! On my Sunday rest day, we go hiking. I love hiking, but I still have to wake up early so we can get to the good places and do the hike before the heat takes over and hiking can be hard work when you live in the mountains. So, it's not really a rest day, it's just a non Combat day. Thursday rest day is just a rest day! I only get two more of these though. After that, I only get Sunday for a rest day. I'm not looking forward to that! Tomorrow is Combat 60 and then it's Combat 30. That will be my last time doing Combat 30 on this round of Les Mills Combat! After that, the only 30 minute workouts will be Power HIIT and Shock Plyo HIIT! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Next week, I get to do Combat Live 60 for the first time! I'm super excited about that since it will be my first new workout since Day 15. They mix it up well though so I don't feel like I"m always doing the same workout and I'm not bored yet.
I am ready for this round of Les Mills Combat to be over though. I'm having fun with it, but I'm getting tired of being sore. It seems like the further into this workout I get the more sore I get. That doesn't make sense! I know it's because I'm getting more comfortable with the moves and I'm getting stronger so I put more oomph into it, but I'm really just ready for a week of low impact walking workouts. When my round of Combat is done, I might do a 10 day free trial with Gaiam TV and do Leslie Snasone workouts for 10 days. That should help me recover. I think it will be interesting to go back to those and see if I can actually get through one of those again. They really got my heart rate up and I got a good calorie burn doing them, but they were pretty repetitive. Combat has so much mixed into it that I might be bored with a Leslie Sansone workout again. I've got 28 days to figure out what I'm going to do after Combat. Well 29 really since I still need to do Combat Live 30, which I have planned for the day after I'm done with my 60 days of combat. I can't end Combat with Shock Plyo HIIT and that's how the program is set to end. I think doing Combat Live 30 will be a better ending for me.
I just went to look at my BodyMedia website and discovered that on July 15th I had a personal best of 36 minutes of vigorous activity! It beat my previous record of 35 minutes. Woot Woot! Soooooooo what did I do on July 15th? Well, I did Cardio Extreme Fighter and got 35 minutes of vigorous activity during the workout. I'm not sure where I picked up the 36th minute, but I don't really care either!
Once all of this Les Mills Combat stuff is done and I've done my recovery week, I might have to set up a personal challenge to do 30 minutes of vigorous activity each day for an entire week. I'll have to think about this one. There are so many things I want to do, but I'm not sure that there is time to do them all! I want to get PiYo too. I want to do the C25K Free app. I want to do kettlebells! It's a good thing I still have well over 100 pounds to lose. I'm sure I've got plenty of time to get all of these programs into my life before I lost all of this weight and turn into a professional photographer specializing in calendars!
