Review of Beachbody Les Mills Combat Day 31

What I did and why

Today was Day 31 of Les Mills Combat! It was the 45 minute Power Kata routine. I'm doing the Warrior program, so it was only my fourth time doing this workout. I like this workout. I'm not sure if it's because I don't do it very often or if it's because of the workout itself.

Power Kata

This is a 45 minute combat workout. You can read a play by play of the workout on my Day 3 Review of Les Mills Combat. That was the first time that I did this workout. I did better than the first time, that's for sure! I was pretty beat though. I'm not sure if I slept badly last night or if my muscles were just weak from yesterday's 60 minute workout. I just know that I wasn't really into the workout today. Even though I wasn't into it, I still tried to do the jumping side kicks. That didn't go so well. The jumping front kicks are way easier. I tried to do the jumping knee thing too, but that just didn't go so well either. I need more practice with that. I'm getting pretty good with the jumping front kicks. I'm not sure why the side kicks and knees are so hard for me to jump with. I was able to keep up with most of the workout. I slow down a little for the cross jack stuff and I messed up a few times during one of the segments that had a lot of moves strung together.

The other day, I mentioned something about missing Ginga. I'm not really sure why I would ever miss Ginga. It involved lunges. I hate lunges. This little segment is one of the very few segments that actually make one of my muscles go to the point of pain. It happened in Tae Bo a lot because we would do roundhouse kicks for like 1,000 reps, but with Combat, they mix it up so you're not doing the same move constantly forever. The Ginga stuff though really gets my but sore! Speaking of being sore.......I'm tired of being sore. Once upon a time, I used to feel like it was a failed workout if I wasn't sore the next day. I'm not sure what I was thinking with that silly plan. I'm always sore now. If it's not my shoulders, it's my abs. If it's not my abs, it's my glutes. The list goes on and on. I know that it's good to be sore because it means that I'm making progress, but I'm just tired of being sore! I can't wait to be done with this next 30 days because once it's over, I'm totally taking a week to do something easy like Leslie Sansone walking workouts.

I don't have a first workout workout tab to compare to since my Bluetooth connection died that day. That still drives me batty. Why did it have to happen on the first day! UGH! The workout arc resembles the same one from the first workout which is good. It looks like I gave it a little more oomph in certain places today. The end is higher. I really pushed todayto see how hard I could go on the last set of jabs. That move where you're done almost in horse stance and you just jab as fast and hard as you can alternating left and right and you really feel it in your abs was always one of my favorites with Tae Bo. I'm glad that some of the workouts end with it with Les Mills Combat. On this segment, I don't try to keep up with them. I just punch as hard and as fast as I can. I want to go faster than they do!
