iFit 1 Mile Challenge One Tree Hill, New Zealand

This was my last one in my schedule with any elevation. I wanted to do it today since I've done a couple speed ones over the last couple days. Last night, I decided that I was going to walk before work instead of working before work. We don't have anything ready for dinner so we'll have to stop someplace on the way home and I know that means I won't get any walking done after work. I made myself a priority and put off work until Saturday so I could walk today. When I woke up this morning, I kinda hated myself for this whole plan. I was tired and didn't want to walk. I did it anyway though. I almost thought I didn't have time to do it though because the clock on the wall said it was quarter past the hour which meant I had wasted a ton of time. Turns out, the battery is dead and it's quarter past 3:00 since the battery is dead. It was only 4:05 AM. I had plenty of time, so no excuses!

This one was pretty intense for the first half and then it went downhill. I kinda like those on here. I hate those in the wild. I hate going uphill first when we do hikes. I want to get into the experience before I hate life. Going downhill first and then uphill to get to the car sucks too, but at least you know you have to get out otherwise search and rescue needs to come and really who wants that to happen? Certainly not the fat girl!

Anyway, I used the heart rate monitor today and I got my heart rate up there! It was close to 170 according to the machine. It stayed pretty high even when I went downhill. I kept giving myself little pep talks. I reminded myself that I made it through that hellacious one the other day. Once I got over the first big hill, I made sure to tell myself there was only one hill left! Once I got over the biggest hill, I told myself that it wasn't going to be harder than I had already done so I could get it done!

Once I was on the downhill, I slowly got the speed up to 2.5MPH. That got my heart rate back up and made my hip and shin and calf hurt! I was not a happy camper with that decision, but I wasn't going to make it go slower since if I walked slower, I was on there longer. I just kept going! At the 10 minute mark, I started my countdown in my head. Less than 10 minutes, less than 9-1/2 minutes, less than 8 minutes to go! I was hating life. Usually I do the minute marks, but not the half minute marks. At some point, I started doing 15 second marks. It got so bad at one point, I was like Almost size minutes to go!

At some point, my earbuds said, "Battery low!" She said it a few times and then bye bye music. I had to do the last five and half minutes in silence because my brain could not figure out how to make my iPad make sound without the earbuds. I had to put all of my focus into staying upright on the machine. It was great fun! Not!

I got through it! I survived. I didn't hatch an egg in Pokemon Go though since I hatched one as soon as I woke up. I hate it when it happens that way and it happened two days in a row. UGH! I'm running late getting into the shower. Gotta go!

**Edited to add: I took more than four minutes off my previous time!
