Review of Cize Day 10: Full Out

Day 10: Full Out

Today was day 10 on the advanced calendar for Cize. It was Full Out which is the same workout that I did on Monday. On Monday, it was a train wreck! I'm not really sure what was going on on Monday, but I could not do anything right with this workout. Later that night, I was talking to my husband and I could recite the moves to him. I knew what order I did things and I knew what I was supposed to do, but when I was supposed to actually do it, I got so frustrated that I couldn't get my body parts to move in the right direction at the right time.

Yesterday's workout with In the Pocket wasn't much better. I decided to just skip the arm movement and focus on the feet. I really wasn't looking forward to doing either workout again. However, I got up this morning all excited to do Cize! Even though I couldn't figure out what to do for either of them, I still had some level of fun doing it. It didn't feel like a workout. This morning I reminded myself that even the So You Think You Can Dance contestants look horrible in their practice workouts.

I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised with how things went this morning! I stuck with my plan from yesterday and just didn't worry about the arm movements. I was able to get my feet to do what they were supposed to do for most of the workout. I had a few flubs which were mostly doing the knee raises right after doing the cross jack thing kind of in the middle.

I was really surprised that I actually did better during the Cize it up section than I did during the learning part of the workout. The part that was extra surprising about that was he didn't talk at all other than the counting for us to start the move. I didn't even really pay much attention to what they showed on the screen!

It was awesome! I had so much fun doing this one! I'm pretty excited to do it again on Friday. I'm hoping to work on the arm movements. I was able to do some of them, but many of them I just flailed my arms around to get the calorie burn and just didn't care what he was doing with his arms.

I want to address one topic that I've touched on a little bit, but haven't really gone too much in depth on. While looking at the stats for the blog today, I noticed that someone had found me by searching for "How much jumping is in Cize?" There is some, but there's not a ton. You could probably modify it a little bit and do side steps, but it might throw off your timing. There are several different places where you do some form of jumping, but the sections don't last long. While you are learning the move, you do them over and over again, but once you're past the learning part, you don't jump much. I think the most jumping at any given time in this particular workout was when we jumped out legs out and then crossed them in front and then back out and then back crossed in front.

Cize does not have a modifier, so you're on your own to figure out how to modify anything that you can't physically do. That was a bit odd for me. I wasn't really too keen on that idea at the beginning, but I think I find that I modify much less when I'm not given the option to modify. I do modify a little though. There are a few places where he does a move called The Trip. You hop on one foot while you kick the other foot back and then forward and then back and then forward. I keep the "plant" foot planted. I also usually touch the moving foot down when we kick back. My balance still sucks. I'm not modifying any of the jumping stuff like the cross jacks and other things like that.

My legs are pretty sore today. I'm not really sure why though. I felt like I didn't put enough oomph into In the Pocket to be sore at all and there wasn't anything in 8 Count Abs that should have made my inner thighs and hamstrings sore. It's so weird. I'm actually looking forward to doing the workout again tomorrow just to see if I can figure out where the soreness came from. My abs are a little bit sore, but that's to be expected since I did 8 Count Abs.

Since I improved so drastically from Monday, I'm gong to give myself a 2! Woot Woot!

Polar M400 Screen Shots

Here are the screen shots from the workout. I got a much higher calorie burn doing Full Out today compared to Monday. I think there was about an 80 calorie difference. My heart rate was in 5 for a total of 9 seconds on Monday, but just over 8 minutes this time. Crazy stuff!
