Day 8: Build Legs
Today was Build Legs! This was my second time doing this workout. The first time, I paused it and rewound it so I could get all my reps in. It took me an extra 10 or 15 minutes to do that. I didn't have the time or energy to do that this time so I just tried to keep up with them. I didn't completely succeed in that mission. I did pretty well for most of it and was able to catch up during the rest periods for some of it. However, the forward lunges and the step up rear lunges just didn't come close. I was focused more on my form with the forward lunges. I wanted to get rid of my little stutter step. I pretty much succeeded in that little mission. I missed a few, but for the most I was able to just step back. My balance was horrible with the step up rear lunges. I did so well with PiYo and the lunges, but I just can't seem to get the balance right in my new workout room. When I was doing PiYo, I used my Yoga mat and for the lunges. I knew to keep my feet close to the outer edges of the mat. In the new workout room, I'm having issues with keeping me feet wide enough to keep good balance.
I didn't go up with my weights today, but I didn't do well enough with anything last week to think I should go up. I thought about adding weight to the bar for the straight leg deadlift thing, but I wanted more time to work on my form with that one. I did better with the form, so I think it was a good decision.
My Bowflex weights are due tomorrow! I'm so excited. I'm contemplating swapping my Cardio/Ab Day and my Back and Bis day. I wasn't able to fry out my back last week, so I really wanted these weights to help with that. I don't want to wait another week to use them for Back and Bis day! I'm just not really in the mood to do the Beast Cardio and Abs workouts. They were just kind of blah. I'm still thinking of doing 21 Day Fix Cardio Fix and 10 Minute Fix for Abs instead.
Here's the worksheet for the day. It will be interesting to see how I feel tomorrow!
BodyMedia Screen Shot
Here's the screen shot. I'm still surprised by the 14 minutes of activity. I was breathing heavy and it was pretty intense, but I got more minutes of activity during this workout than I did during the cardio workout. That's just wacky.

If you want to learn more, check out the video. If you're interested in purchasing the program, make sure you buy it from a Beachbody Coach so you get the free workout. If you don't have a coach, you can sign up under me. The video may make it look like this program is just for guys, but it really isn't. Women should lift and lift as heavy as they can. We don't need to be spending hours upon hours pumping pretty pink 2 pound dumbbells to get lean muscle. We can do the same stuff as the boys. We might need smaller weights, but that's okay. We're not going to bulk up and look like these guys. It's just not going to happen unless we want it to happen and take a boat load of steroids to make it happen.
