What I did and why
Today was Day 24 of Les Mills Combat. It was Combat 30 Kick Start. I've done this workout five times before. You can get a play by play in my review of Day 1 of Les Mills Combat. I'm so happy that I stuck with this. After that first week, I wasn't really sure. After the second week, I think I was still a bit undecided about it. After 24 days, I'm pretty happy that I got this DVD program. I'm really enjoying that I don't have to figure out what to do from day to day.. I was trying to come up with a weekly plan, but it seemed like such a chore sometimes to find something to do. With this, I just opened up my booklet and figure out which DVD to put in.
Combat 30 Kick Start
This is a 30 minute workout. It's all about punching and kicking! I love punching and kicking! There are still scissor legs and cross jacks, but It's okay since I get to punch and kick and I don't have to do lunges and push ups! Woot Woot! The first time I did this workout, it seemed really long, but today, it was over in the blink of an eye! I remember thinking that the big kicking section was never ending, but even in the heat this morning, it didn't seem that bad. I really like this short little workout.
Today, I had DOMS in my left quad! I talked yesterday I think about not getting sore from these now, and today I'm sore! Talk about weird! It's really weird that it's only in my left quad though, but I did really push to go as deep as I could on those lunges yesterday. Maybe my right quad is just stronger. I'm a smidge sore on my shoulder blades today which surprised me.
I was able to keep up with most of the stuff today. I couldn't quite keep up with the scissor legs and the cross jacks. I think at one point I said that I was keeping up with them, but that was when I was doing my modified version. It wasn't the modification that they did, but it was my own that can not even be described.
Tomorrow is rest day! I'm so excited and I just can't hide it! I LOVE Thursday rest day. I get to set my alarm clock for a whole hour later than normal! Rest day is da bomb! I thought I would have a problem with not working out one day during the week, but I have no problems with it at all! I look forward to Thursdays so much!
Random thoughts that go through my brain....I got my Live 30 DVD via FedEx today. This DVD was a bonus for buying my workout through my coach or through teambeachbody.com. It was supposed to come with my DVD kit, but it didn't. I emailed my coach, but never got a response back. I have since switched coaches, and the new coach suggested that I email Beachbody. I did. The new DVD came today. So, I've been all bummed with the thought that my last workout of Les Mills Combat will be Shock Plyo. For those of you not following along, I hate Shock Plyo. I have to do it 5 more times and then I'm done! However, that fifth time is on the last day. Doing that as my last workout of Les Mills Combat is like a quarterback having their last play before retirement result in a pick 6. I have decided that I'm going to end Les Mills Combat with Live 30! I'm so excited! I kind of wish that Live 30 was part of the program though since I don't really want to wait until the end to do it. I already have to wait 16 days before I get to do Combat 60 Live for the first time. Which oddly enough is the day before I have to do Shock Plyo again. I love my little booklet.
Body Media Screen Shots
This workout arc actually resembles the first time I did this workout. I got 50 calories today though. I also got an extra 6 minutes of vigorous activity today over the first time that I did the workout.
