Beachbody Les Mills Combat Day 10

What I did and why

Today, I did Day 10 of Les Mills Combat. I'm doing the Warrior program. I'm now 1/6 of the way through the 60 days! Woot Woot! I didn't really think that I would make it 10 days into this program. I bought it because I like kickboxing type workouts and someone told me about the great sale that they were having. I was very skeptical and thought that I would get bored quickly. So far, I haven't gotten bored, but there are several workouts so I haven't done a lot of repeats yet. We'll see how I feel in another couple of weeks.

Power Kata

This workout was 45 minutes long. It's the one that I did last Wednesday, but my BodyMedia stopped talking to my phone sooooo I didn't get the workout tab. I was looking forward to doing this again so I could get the workout tab info. I kept looking at my phone during the workout just to make sure that it was still working! You can read about my first experience with Power Kata. It gives pretty much a play by play of the workout.

I re-read my post from last week before writing this post. It's so funny how miserable I sounded. I honestly don't remember the squats that I was referring to at all. I'm sure they were there, but I got through it just find this morning. I do remember the Ginga stuff though. That was hard on the legs! My legs are still pretty weak from the weekend hike and the first two days this week of Combat. I powered through though.

I think I found out what made my shoulder blades hurt last week. I'm pretty sure it was the descending elbows in this plus the street punch thing. You hold almost a lunge position and punch down. I could feel it working the muscles back there.

I was able to keep up with them for most of the punching moves and a lot of the kicking stuff, but if we had too many moves strung together, I did get a little off pace. I didn't do any jumping in this one, but I did do the cross jacks with the legs in one section I think. I was out of breath for a good chunk of the workout, but I never felt like I was going to die or that I couldn't get through it.

I'm so happy because tomorrow is a REST DAY! It's going to be a real rest day. I'm not in an activity challenge so I don't have to worry about finding something to do. I'm going to set my alarm clock an hour later so I will get some extra sleep! It's called a REST DAY for a reason! I'm going to REST!!!!!!!! I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooo excited! I might start my rest day early by going to bed now. :)

BodyMedia Screen Shots

I was actually pretty surprised to show 496 calories. I wasn't paying attention to where my calories were at during the workout. If I had been, I might have kicked it up a notch to hit 500! I was surprised that I only had 13 minutes of vigorous activity. I got more than that from most of my Leslie Sansone workouts that were this long. This thing is intense. There were so many double knee strikes and I don't think I go credit for vigorous for them even though they were quite vigorous! My workout arc is pretty similar to the one from the last time I did Power Kata, but this one has a weird dip towards the end that the other doesn't have.
