This week, I did Leslie Sansone's Ultimate 5 Day Walk Plan. This DVD is different than the others that I have done of hers. This one lets you customize things in a new way. There are five 1 mile walks and five targeted toning segments. You can follow the prefab workouts each day or you can design your own workout up to 10 segments long. There is a flaw in the DVD though. It should have given 12 spots so you could do the warm up and cool down in addition to all five miles and all five targeted toning spots, but you only get 10 spots. If you want to play them all, you'll have to restart the DVD at some point.
I went the whole week doing the prefab workouts on each of the corresponding days. I did the walk plus the targeted tonight for the specific day. Below are my BodyMedia screen shots for each workout. Wednesday was the only day that had a decent arc to it. The rest of them are weird looking because each mile starts off slow and then midway through picks up the pace. I found that highly annoying that I would pick up the pace and then at the mile change, the pace would slow down again. I enjoyed the break and being able to breathe, but in terms of a workout, it was very jarring.
I have to return the DVD, but I plan on getting it back from the library and doing another series of posts with it. I want to do each of the miles as a single mile workout and I also want to do the entire five miles with all five of the targeted toning segments. I want to try it with the walk first and then all toning spots. I also want to try them by alternating the walking with the toning and do all of the segments.
Oh the fun I could have with this DVD. However, I don't have to do them now, which is a good thing because after doing the Yellow Mile all week long, I really want to scream. That walker just annoys me! Oh and the fact that Leslie is constantly turning her head back to talk to the walkers to tell the walkers what to do next. That got on my last nerve.
