Review of Beachbody Les Mills Combat Day 47

What I did and why

Forty-seven days ago, I committed to doing all 60 days of the Les Mills Combat program. I honestly wasn't sure that I would be able to do it. I struggled through some of the early workouts and questioned my desire to continue doing the program but I've stuck with it! I woke up early on Saturdays to get my workout in before everyone woke up. The one time that I didn't wake up early, I was strong enough to stand up for myself and ask my husband if he would go hang out in another room for 30 minutes so I could get my workout in. Today was Combat Live 60! I made it through 46 days, so I had to wake up and bang this one out.

Combat Live 60 Ultimate Warrior's Workout

The other day when I did Combat 45 Power Kata, I think I tagged that as my favorite workout in the set, but after doing this one today, it could be my favorite. I struggled with this one on the first day, but I'm getting better at it. It's funny that certain segments seemed to last an eternity on the first day that I did this workout, but today, they didn't seem to last as long.

This is a 52ish minute combat workout. There is a lot of punching and kicking and that's what I love! There was some scissor legs and of course, the dreaded section of Capoeria with the lunges and kicks, but for the most part it's just a fun combat workout. You can read all about my first day with this workout on Day 40 of Les Mills Combat. It seems like it's been longer than a week since the first time I did this workout, but it really has only been a week. This is my third time doing this workout in hat week. I only have this one two more times before my 60 days is up! That's kind of sad since I won't have enough time to master that one stinking section!

There are parts of this workout that are pretty slow, but if it's too slow, you can make it more intense by skipping the pulsing and just continue on. I plan on doing that once I'm done with the program. I want to see just how many minutes of vigorous activity I can get.

Today was the day after rest day which usually means I'm in a much better place to do a workout. However, I've stayed up late the past three nights and it's beginning to take it's toll. I had a sore throat when I woke up. I knew I would get through the workout, but I still fear that this is going to turn into something more than just my throat. I've come to close to the end for me to get sick now. I'm going to try sleeping in a little bit tomorrow and then Sunday is another rest day so that will hopefully help. Maybe it's just allergies! Anyway, I still felt pretty fresh for the workout. The Shakeology must really be helping me because three nights in a row staying up until nearly 10PM and then waking up at 4:00 AM should make me exhausted! i'm tired right now, but this morning things were good! Oh and I think I'm pretty close to being able to do at least one push up from my toes! I did them on my knees today, but I felt strong and my knees were pretty far back, unlike the first few times doing push ups in this program!

BodyMedia Screen Shots

Here are my screen shots for the workout. Best news ever......My husband got my BodyMedia device working. I don't know how he did it and I'll be honest, I don't care how he did it. I'm just happy that he did it! Woot Woot! I was so crushed without having the workout tab! I love charts and graphs! I improved my calorie burn and my minutes of vigorous activity over the previous two times doing this workout! I love progress! The workout has the same basic shape to it, but I can see where I picked up some of those intensity minutes! I love that spike at the end. It's my favorite part. I loved it in TaeBo and I love it in this. We stand in horse stance or forward guard I think they call it and we alternate jabs as fast as we can. I'm not sure why I love that so much, but I really do!
