What I did and why
Today was Day 27 of Les Mills Combat! Today should have been Power HIIT, but I goofed and did Power HIIT yesterday on Day 26, so today I did Power Kata which was what I should have done yesterday.
Power Kata
Power Kata is a 45 minute workout. It's all combat! There are no push ups or burpees! There are some squats, but they aren't your traditional squats since you're doing karate blocks at the same time. There are also some lunges, but they are while doing ginga so they aren't really lunges! I like ginga! I"m not sure why I like ginga though since it involves lunges and doing repetitive motions that make my glutes hurt! It's really the only move in the entire combat discs so far that we repeat enough that it gives me pain. When I did Tae Bo, there were so many repetitive moes and I couldn't keep doing them, but with Les Mills Combat, they string stuff together, so I don't get that same burning feeling in my muscles as we go.
You can read a play by play of the workout on Day 3 when I did this workout the first time. I don't really remember doing this for the first time, but apparently, I wasn't able to keep up with them and I thought this workout was all crazy on the legs. I was able to keep up with most of what they did today! Woot Woot! I still had to modify some stuff and I didn't do the jumping side kick stuff. I did do the cross jacks correctly. YAY! I was confused by Ginga the first time, but this time I did well with it. I've only done this workout three times, so I'm pretty happy that I kept up with them. I just hope i"m not too sore to do my hike up Iron Mountain tomorrow!
BodyMedia Screen Shots
Here are my BodyMedia screen shots for the workout. The first time I did it, I lost the Bluetooth connection with the phone, so I don't have the workout tab. It looks like I burned my calories in this workout than the first though. The shake of the workout arc is very similar, but I have less dips in this one.
