Review of Beachbody Les Mills Combat Day 43

What I did and why

Today was Day 43 of Les Mills Combat! I'm getting so close to being done! I can't wait to get my T-shirt! Okay, so Day 43 of the Warrior program was Combat 60 Live. It was only the second time for this workout. There were parts I loved the first time and parts I hated the first time! That pretty much stayed the same. You can read a full play by play of the workout from my review of Day 40 of Les Mills Combat.

Combat 60 Live Ultimate Warriors Workout

I thought this thing was intense the first time around, but it got even more intense the second time! It could have been the heat or it could have been me being more familiar with it so I put more oomph into it. I'm not really sure. What I do know is that when it was done, I wanted to die! My shoulders hurt! My abs hurt! My glutes hurt! My hamstrings hurt! My biceps hurt! I just hurt all over! My legs were still sore from Saturday's session of Shock Plyo.

I think I did better with this workout this time around. I kept up with most of the stuff. I did all of the decoys which surprised me since the last time I did this, I had to stop partway through and go back to the modification stuff. I kept up with the scissor legs too. That was the part that most impressed me. I kept up with the punching. Although, I did miss some stuff at the beginning of some of the segments because I was catching my breath and chugging water. I was pretty bummed about missing some of the elbow moves. I love the elbow stuff!

Okay, so you heard about the stuff that I kept up with, but what didn't I keep up with? There is one section that is insane! We do three lunges and then a front kick. I just don't have the balance to be doing this little number. This segment also has a side lunge that they call something like esquiva. Hopefully I didn't just swear in another language. We mix up the side lunge thing with the regular lunge and front kick thing. It's quite taxing on my brain and my legs! Then, you hold the side lunge position and pull your knee up. My glutes were killing me for this one. I could do a couple and then had to shake it off. I love these workouts because you don't do the same move over and over again which gives my muscles time to recover. I don't get that deep burning like hen I do TaeBo. However, in this segment, I definitely feel the burn!

I did okay with the push ups, but I didn't keep up. I tried to the hand to shoulder thing on my toes, but it just was not happening. I'll try it again! Maybe on my last day, I'll even try the push ups on my toes! I'm afraid to try it before the end though because I fear falling on my face and not being able to finish my 60 days! I must finish my 60 days!

I did better with the cool down thing at the end too. Although, that had my glutes on fire too!

I think this is my new favorite routing, but I still have to do Combat 45 again to decide. I don't remember that one having anything that I don't like in it, but this one has that crazy leg segment with he lunges.

BodyMedia Screen Shots

Here are my screen shots! I only got an extra minute of vigorous activity. I was surprised by that! However, I started pretty high with this one the first time. I did get an extra 30 calories burned. After my 60 days is up, I might do this workout again and speed up the beginning section to see how many minutes of vigorous activity I can get. The initial kicking sequences are pretty slow paced. I still feel like poo poo at the end though so I'm not complaining!
