What I did and why
Today was Day 36 of Les Mills Combat! Only three Mondays left in the program! I'm doing the Warrior program, so today was Combat 60 Extreme Cardio Fighter. You can read the play by play of the workout on Day 15 which was my first day doing Extreme Cardio Fighter.
Extreme Cardio Fighter
This is a 54 minute workout. It's tagged as a 60 minute workout an they talk about it several times in the workout, but it's only 54 minutes. I really like that though because it gives me a small cushion to motivate in the morning. :) It irritated me in the beginning, but now I like it. This workout has a ton of kicking and knee strikes! There are some scissor legs and cross jacks as well. If you've been reading along, you know I'm not fond of either one of those, but I do them because I have to! I put every once of my being into those cross jacks and scissor legs, but I still couldn't keep up with them. It doesn't look like their legs are going any faster than mine so i really don't get what my problem is, but I just can't keep up with either section. I did the jump kicks this time. I was still a little sore from the last few workouts even with the rest day from Sunday, but I went into this workout feeling pretty fresh. The beginning actually felt pretty slow today. I think that's the first time I've ever thought that! I was doing the first couple of segments and was thinking to myself about the places that I could work on adding minutes of vigorous activity because I'm trying to see how high I can get my vigorous stuff. After the second section, I turned around to look at my BodyMedia device and realized that I had been doing vigorous stuff according to my app. I only had 3 minutes of non-vigorous stuff between the first two segments which I think totaled about 9 minutes. Maybe I can't really add more vigorous into that section.
Overall, I think I did pretty good. I kept up with the majority of the stuff. I like this workout, but it's the most repetitive out of any of them so far. I'm hoping that I really love the Live version of the 60 minute workout. Once I'm done with this round of Les Mills Combat, I'd like to have a 60 minute Combat routine that I could throw in the DVD player when I'm in the mood for punching things. I just don't think the studio version is the answer. It does amazing things for my body, but it's not nearly as fun as the 45 minute routine or even the 30 minute routine.

I set out to hit 40 minutes of vigorous activity during this workout and I hit my goal! As soon as the last bit of punching was done in the last stand up cardio round, I turned to look at my phone. I was soooooooo bummed because it only showed 39 minute of vigorous activity. While I was contemplating doing some running in place instead of the push ups I was supposed to be doing, it flipped to 40 minutes. I was sooooooooooooooooooooooo excited! I almost did a happy dance. Instead, I got down on my hands and knees and did some pushups! Once I'm done with Les Mills Combat and my muscles are no longer sore, I might have to try a real push up on my toes! I think it could end badly and result in a broken nose or some bruised boobs, so I have to wait until it won't keep me from finishing my 60 day commitment. I will finish this 60 days if it kills me! I'm closer to the end than then beginning so that's promising! It still drives me nuts that the BodyMedia device thinks that push ups and crunches aren't activity. It's going to be really hard to beat my 40 minutes of vigorous activity on this workout. Maybe Live 60 won't have push ups and crunches! That dip towards the beginning of the last third of the workout really bothers me too! I'm not sure what it is. It might be the part where we balance on one leg while we do a side kick motion but never let our feet hit the floor. Well, they don't let their feet his the floor, but mine hit the floor A LOT!
