I've been a very bad girl

I have officially fallen off the wagon. I can't believe I let this happen. I'm absolutely crushed that I haven't worked out in months and my diet is pretty horrible right now. It's not the worst my diet has ever been, but it's not pretty at all.

It's been a long series of events that have led to this. Hubby was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in February. I stopped dooing Beachbody programs so I could help motivate him to get up and walk in the mornings. We weren't very consistent with getting that done. We did try to get in a few hikes over the summer but his work schedule left little time for hiking. Then I got busy with editing over the summer. I ran out of time for the blog. Once I stopped blogging,  I pretty much stopped working out.

I slowly put most of the weight back on. I'm back to a men's size 46 jeans and they are getting tight. I was going to start working out January 3rd, but I fell at work on December 30th and hurt my foot. There isn't much I can do right now. I could try some chair excersizes or upper body weights but I don't want to risk making the recovery take longer. I can't even drive because it's my right foot.

My normal process to get back into the groove is to start with working out and then adjust my diet. I might have to reverse that because this inactivity is not going to do anything good for me if I keep eating cookies and ice cream for dessert.

I'm not adding any pretty pictures of scenery or flowers because this post does not deserve pretty pictures. This is a depressing post with me facing up to reality. I need to do something and I need to do it now. I have a new iPad so hopefully I'll be able to do some blogging to get me on track. I didn't realize how important the blog was to my success but it seems that it truly is. We did a few hikes this summer that I didn't blog about. Once I got behind it kinda made me not want to hike because it was just more work I didn't have time to deal with. I even did some Beachbody on demand yoga but never had time to blog. I also tried Beachbody County Heat, but once again, no time to blog about it. Then I just gave up.

I let life get in the way, but I'm optimistic that I can take control again. It's pretty time consuming typing this out on the iPad. I would have been dines ages ago with a keyboard so maybe I will invest in a Bluetooth keyboard. Let's see if I can manage a full time job, a part time job, taking classes for medical coding and refocusing attention to the blog. If I wasn't insane before, I think I might be before too long. I might have to really test his theory of "If it's important to you, you will make time instead of excuses.

  1. I found your blog when I was searching Google about Piyo drench. i just did it for the first time in forever and it nearly killed me. Anyway, I saw that you were having a rough go of things in January-ish and I hope you're feeling better and getting over your slump.

    1. My phone is driving me crazy. It's not letting me know when I have comments. January was a rough patch for sure. Here we are in April. I just started excersizing again now that I'm off the scooter for my foot. It's not pretty though. I'm still in the boot so it's all chair or floor stuff but I'm going to beat this eventually. It's almost hiking season'
