iFit Scottish Highland Series Lochan Coire Lagan Hike 2 The Highlands, Scotland Day 5

Today is Sunday! I took a few days off! My last walk was Tuesday. Wednesday I made an excuse about the Imperfect Foods box coming so I had to take pics. Thursday, I think we stopped for chicken on the way home. Friday, I started dealing with dinner as soon as we got home and forgot that I had intended to walk. Saturday was busy. We went out for breakfast, we went shopping, I did some phone calls for my side job, I took a nap and I did dishes. After the nap, I was trying to figure out if I was getting sick since I was surprised that I slept as long and as hard as I did. So today, I knew that I needed to get this challenging walk out of the way or it wasn't going to happen on a Monday!

When I got up on the treadmill, I wanted to make sure that I ended up getting the correct walk for the day. I knew it was part two of something, but I didn't see it on there. I must have forgotten to hit the button about rescheduling my workouts when I missed them. I had to reload the four that I missed and the obnoxious thing is that I'm going to have to reload the rest of them again too since I'm four days behind. Unless I did four walks today! Oh well.

I knew that I could get through this one by slowing down the speed. I got through the last one and it was worse than this one. I was having a hard time deciding where to set the speed though. I wanted to make it challenging, but I also wanted to make sure I got through it. I decided on 2.5MPH unless it was a hill and then I would go slower, but preferably no slower than 1.5MPH. It seemed to work okay. I was tempted to go lower than 1.5MPH when I got to the 29% incline part. That section was a bit rough. I was breathing super heavy. I just kept telling myself that it wouldn't get worse than that moment and if I could do that moment, I could do another moment. It worked. I got through it and still went up to 2.5MPH after that big hill was over! I feel pretty accomplished about that. I had a good excuse to just stick with 2MPH, but I pushed myself. My calves were a big sore by the time I was done with this one.

Graham McTavish was the leader of this walk. He's been the leader of all of them. He walks and talks about being in The Hobbit or other movies he's been in. He's entertaining enough, but I stop paying attention to him when I'm on the steep inclines. I'm really grooving on these videos though now that I learned that I can change the speed and not impact the elevation. I like that I'm committing to an amount of time and not necessarily a distance. If the hills are too intense and I have to slow down to get through them, it doesn't extend the length of the hill. When I do the slide show walks, I have a hard time deciding if I want to slow down to make it easier because it also makes it last longer so it's a choice, just power through or slow down and be on the machine longer.

Since I slowed this one down, I didn't get the distance or the elevation where it was supposed to be. It was supposed to be 1.5 miles, but I only ended up with 1.3 miles. It was supposed to be 396 feet, but I was only at 352. The first screen shot below is what I did and the one below it is what it should have been.

I hatched a couple Pokemon Go eggs. The first was Cubone (blah). The second was a lillipup. (double blah). The sucky part though........I didn't get to the 3km mark to open up my next set of free battles. UGH! Guess I need to get another .5 km today.
